A Good Day to Die Hard (the fifth one) is one of the worst movies I've ever seen, @danryckert. Don't see it. It's atrocious.

Urgh. On-rails shooters worked in arcades and...nowhere else, really.

Also, Dan and Jeff are driving me nuts by ignoring all the bright-white-glowy-horribly-out-of-place Good Luck Cats that just scream "SHOOT ME FOR A BONUS!" ;)

@danryckert: WET (the PS3 game that made a big deal about having Eliza Dushku as the main character) had a pretty great grindhouse/Pulp-Fiction feel. The soundtrack was pretty good, also. Gameplay wasn't the best (just got too repetitious) but it wasn't flat-out BAD, either.

I absolutely 100% agree with this. I wish I had never seen that thing. It's so bad it's not even funny. Man, f that movie!

well, i suppose if you're gonna make an on rails shooter humor would be a great tool to counteract repetitiveness But they probably should have just copped out and done the mst3k thing, when they realized how bad the writing was.

I don't know what is more repulsive: this game, or the character portrait.

I kind of liked the demo...I knew it wasn't great...but that didn't stop me from thinking it was kind of fun.

Personally I think this game is good and the controls work really well. Its a shame it's not 60fps because that would have helped with the cursor. the motion controls in the controller on a hardware level are extremely accurate and quick.

Dan, you need to learn what nonplussed means. It's been two times that you've used that word incorrectly.

I feel like I have yet to hear Dan speak disparagingly about... anything, really. I guess the day he sees a movie or plays a game and says "huh, this isn't very good" it will be heralded as the worst piece of media of all time.

@danryckert I seem to remember that in Warhawk on the PS3 you could aim with 6axis in the planes if you used the normal flight mode. In Pro mode you'd maneuver the plane with the 6axis, control the yaw with one stick and aim with the other, which is too complex and I only ever knew of two people who learned that mode.

And of course, in Uncharted 1 you aimed grenades with the 6axis, which I still think worked well and they should have kept.

I'm a horrible person but I kinda like the tone of this, and yeah it is super lame, but I'm kinda into it.

The gameplay looks super boring though.

EDIT: When Jeff brought up Mystery Science Theater, I immediately thought of GB doing an UPF in that style with just the backs of all their heads staring at the games.

I really like this game's atmosphere, although House of the Dead: Overkill did it better years ago. There are more jokes than not that land for me.

Also, I've played through a few levels, and the controls are amazing. The PS4 is better than Wii or any other motion setup for a light gun game by a large margin. It's worth checking out just to experience that.

EDIT: Jeff hates Overkill? I'm mystified as to why. That game is DUMB in a really fun way.

IF popular game press were to be believed, it would seem that essentially all games are shitty towards women and minorities.

Did this already show up on the site before? Like maybe Patrick took a look at it or a UPF? It looked awful then and it looks awful still.

I find that most light-gun shooters aren't my thing anymore, though I won't deny that I actually quite enjoyed Dead Space: Extraction -- played it with a PS3 pad even and still managed to enjoy myself. I've heard some OK things about Umbrella Chronicles as well.

This was hilarious - the last 10 seconds make you really realize how perfect Jeff's comedic timing is. He sounds so defeated hahah

I would go with Typing of the Dead: Overkill if you really want something like this.

Sad thing is, this looks like a decent light gun game. I'd probably enjoy playing through it a couple times.

But man... I can't support that kind of "comedy". Overkill did it right. This game does it so, so wrong.

i really wish you guys weren't apprehensive about calling out gross bullshit in games. that transphobic apple adams garbage was a "fuck this game" moment, not a "oh" moment.

SO.. I had played this game when it was a LEAP motion controller exclusive. And apart of how lame almost everything about the game is.. I felt like the menus and the general look of it was kind of nice. A lot of personality in the graphic design and mostly polished environments. Apart from that, controls kind of worked, but it all got pretty old fast... and .. boy oh boy can comedy miss.

I'd have to see more of it to know for sure. Right now it just features scantly clad women in a brothel level so it's not readily apparent if it's outright offensive or not.

Also for a game of this type it seems competent. I wouldn't say it looks like a complete piece of shit, but rather uninspired.

@humanity: Eh, I'm not a big fan of the "ass right up in your face" image of the game, the menu with the stripper, the transphobic "look at this guy with a bra hahahahaha" stuff. Just strikes me as bad taste all around, a Duke Nukem Forever-level of bullshit.

The "piece of shit" comment comes from that stuff, the humour being just fucking awful etc. I haven't played the game so don't know how it feels, but that stuff is enough for me to label it as a piece of shit.

I actually thought the demo was fun. I'll pick it up some day when it's on sale for like $2.99

I don't know. It's lame and stupid, but it is supposed to be...probably. Fantasy sexy, fantasy violence. It's not going to fit in with people's correctness on a few levels, and maybe it shouldn't. Every character including the protagonist is a caricature

I sure agree with that one poster saying that portrait of Luciano is butt-ugly. Also agree that nonplussed has done a weird slide to it's polar opposite meaning, though it should be used correctly. The devil is in the way the word is put together, I suspect.

This is one of those games that I will watch a bit of just for the weirdness, but no real interest.

This game looks pretty bad, but I do have the urge to play Virtua Cop now. Hell, even one of the Time Crisis games would suffice.

I love the look and atmosphere of this game, but only because it blatantly ripped off House of the Dead Overkill. Everything from the graphical style (especially the pulpy level thumbnails) to the UI. That's the only good thing about this game, unfortunately.

Regarding FPS for the Wii, I thought Red Steel 2 and House of the Dead Overkill were two of the best games for the system. Especially Red Steel 2. That game's sword fighting is so well done and visceral, it makes up for any mediocre elements. It would have made a great Wii pack-in game.

Random thought: I wonder how a light gun style game based off of the Saints Row series would turn out? That would be some funny shit right there.
