Did anyone else notice that Jeff's second goal was apparently worth five points? Are they playing European Rules Lacrosse or something?

These off-brand teams that vaguely resemble colleges are the best.

I spread the word of GLC whenever I am needed.

It's a low bar, but this is the best lax game I've played.

This feels like an appropriate place for this video, basically telling lacrosse player's not to be assholes all the time. Featuring Peter Dante (aka one of the buddies in every Adam Sandler movie) who is, incidentally, an asshole.

Oh it also has the most insufferable music in the background the whole time too.

By the way, women play Lacrosse too. I played all through junior high and high school.

I don't mind Jeff and Dan not knowing the sport, but basic 3rd grade geography shouldn't be too much to expect ( I'm guessing Jeff knows it.)

Having lived about 20 miles from Newport for the first 18 years of my life, I can confirm that it is indeed a dive.

I have seen GLC live a few times though, and they are its redeeming quality.

If they're trying to avoid lawsuits by using fake team names, it's potentially a bad idea to call a team the Buffalo Bison, since that's (almost) the name of our minor league baseball team. But I'm not even sure what going for there, since this seems to be a field lacrosse game and there isn't a professional field lacrosse team in Buffalo at all? Shrug.

Michigan getting a mention! I live in a small down up in the "wiener" part of Michigan.

These guys are the same developers (Big Ant) that did Donald Bradman Cricket. I love this trio for sports games - I hope they bring out an AFL game so you guys can witness that.

I found out the other day that Big Ant are an Aussie developer, based in Melbourne which explains Melbourne University's lacrosse team showing up I suppose. I kinda want to go say hi, they are literally just up the road.

To summarise; someone who felt their council taxes could be put to better use was growing pot in council-owned greenery and flower displays. The council workers who watered and maintained those displays never noticed/reported this, and the crop was harvested before the police removed it.

The United Kingdom is actually a bit bigger than that. There's all the other relics of the British Empire in random parts of the world that actually technically encompass it (iirc Bermuda is one).

There's "snooty", too. More generally, you get the same "oo" sound in "loop", "boot", "moot", "loot", etc. It's a silly-sounding word, for sure, but it's not inconsistent with how other words are pronounced. Apparently it originated in 19th century military slang. That sort of context is ripe for producing unusual sounding words, as they don't follow the usual etymological path (i.e. they're deliberately constructed, often with the intention of being conspicuously particular, rather than deriving from familiar roots).

Speaking of which, "root" is another word that shares the "oo" sound.
