Quick Look: Casey Powell Lacrosse 16

As a resident of Washington state my understanding of lacrosse was that it is a game played exclusively by rich East coast assholes during college. It really confused me to see a team from Colorado in this game, is that based on something real or fiction created by the developer?

I shot my drink out of my nose at Danny's observation about the goalkeepers Jack Kennedy and Brandon Lee. Top cheddar, boys!

Some of my favorite quick looks on the site are the sport quick looks. The less main stream the sports game, the better the quick look.

I love the fact that a third of the video is spent on the team select screen. Very entertaining Quick Look. Kinda makes me want to go back and watch the Backbreaker Quick Look.

European? I always thought it was American. I've never seen people play it in Europe just seen people play it in American movies, usually in a school setting.

This must be mostly popular in the UK. We haven't seen any of this here in Sweden. Soccer and icehockey though... and for some reason, hand ball. Oh and let's not forget folk race, best car sport there ever is. =)

@dagas: they were joking. Lacrosse is a game that was created centuries ago by native peoples in North America. It's an American game.

OK, the European joke was intentional, but I'm not convinced Dan was joking when he said the Fleur de Lis was from New Orleans

Also, you were almost onto something when it came to European countries starting with I until Italy happened. Tough break.

It was funny how they came close to but didn't realize that a few of the team logos were used more than once (for different teams).

I couldn't stop laughing at my desk at the neanderthal bit Jeff did at 31:35 to the end :

Understanding the joke that Danny is the foreign/European sports expert and pointing out that Lacrosse is North American in origin aren't mutually exclusive.

Also I'm kind of creeped out that one of these players has my Dad's name.

Snooker is a great game. And it's pronounced Snoooker. Long oooh. Snucker sounds like a sequel to Snatcher. P.S. This was amazing.

Possibly one of the best quick looks of all time. Without it, I would never have known that Ireland was part of Westeros.

Dan's not joking, but he's not entirely wrong. The Fleur-de-Lis does not come from New Orleans originally, of course, but it is often used as a symbol of New Orleans. Other former French colonies use it as well, as do lots of places in Europe, but New Orleans uses it more prominently than anywhere else in the US. As someone who grew up in New Orleans, I would argue that the Fleur-de-Lis is, as Dan said, "a New Orleans thing", among other things.

I have sat through one too many lists of sports teams.

I love how indignant Danny gets about the snooker/bumper pool comparison.

As someone who's watched lacrosse on TV twice, I must say that the ignorance of Canada's greatest sport is shocking. Well, not that shocking.

I'm generally not one for sports in general, but give me a tiny net on a stick and I'm in. I played Lacrosse in school and it's actually really fun?

Gross. The only people who care about lacrosse are people who went to rich private high schools or preppy liberal arts colleges (Swarthmore, Middlebury) that can't field competitive teams in real sports like football/basketball/baseball. Maybe next they'll create a Polo game.

Great Britain is the name of the island, the United Kingdom is the name of the country. It's no more confusing then America vs. USA. You just didn't grow up with it.
