Alright more characters to play the game front to back to front all over again.

Price is right, at least.

The video keeps randomly stopping for me, which doesn't normally happen on GB videos for me, which is weird.

@mooseymcman: ya same I've been having lots of problems with GB the last few weeks, they been talking about changing stuff maybe that has something to do with it

Agreed. I especially appreciate that the combat mechanics are a lot more tight than in DmC.

Lets be clear here: the fighting mechanics have a lot more depth, the game overall is nowhere close to being even average.

@humanity: Its got the best combat system in all of the DMC games. The level design aint that great and it does suck that half of it is backtracking. But overall its still the 2nd best DMC for me.

Really hope this sells well enough we get to see a DMC5

Try watching the Youtube version. That one worked better for me.

A fantastic game that could've been the best DMC if it weren't for bad pacing and backtracking. Luckily the major draw of these games are the movesets of the characters and different playstyles. I've been enjoying this quite a lot.

People really harp way too hard on the repeated levels. Like yeah it sucks but that's all I ever heard about when the game first came out and it's like c'mon guys this game is fun as fuck does it really matter THAT much that you have to go through the same environments two times? The enemy encounters and some of the puzzles are changed, even.

In character action, combat is key, and DMC4 fucking nailed it.

Sure, but since the combat is the thing you do 90% of the time, if I had to choose, I'd rather play this again than DmC.

Yeah, this video is messed up for me too. It'll play for a minute or two, then stop. Even downloading it isn't getting the full video.

I'm all the way down for this. Enjoyed it on 360 when it was new and I still like it.

Dowloadable HD file is broken. It's only 231MB. Stops playing after few minutes.

The YT version is up if people are having problems with the player on the site.

@hud209: Try setting the quality to Auto, if it isn't already.

DMC4 is pretty good game. It's just too bad they ran out of time or something and copy-pasted half of it.

@larrydavis: It would have definitely been great if they fixed all the damn backtracking and repetition.

You cannot just do that cause that would require rebuilding half the game including story.

Game had great fighting mechanics, pity everything else was so dull.

Also, I can't tell if they are being sarcastic about the SF4 theme. That was Soulja Boy levels of terrible.

@rvone: at a certain point it feels like a slog. I finished DMC4 but had no desire to touch it ever again afterwards which is something I never felt in any other character action game before.

I still don't understand why they made 3 new characters instead of making this a better game... Like Dante's combat system in the game is INCREDIBLE. It's just the rest of the game is poop.

Awesome, I can't wait to play through this game again. And again. I've played through the original 12 times I believe.

That's maybe a bit harsh. Though it could be a lot better, I won't argue with that. It's just that the combat is so fucking good that it doesn't really matter to me.

That UI is huge. Is there an option to make it smaller and more near to the edges?

If i want to fight the same bosses i can just play monster hunter.

I see. I felt the same about DmC. The combat started to feel like a drag a bit after the mid-way point. This was mostly due to the loose timing on execution of moves as well as the immense leeway the game gives you to string combo's together to keep the score up. When I dragged myself through the rest of the game, I never came back to it.

Yeah, I bought this day one but haven't touched it much.

I got three missions in the Nero story mode and just halted any desire to continue. It was like my memories of me finishing this game back in 2008 flooded back into me.

I will play the other Characters though.

God the 'puzzles' and the fucking dice board game shit just to pad it out... AHHH - What little boss fights they had are OK (some way better than others) but just overall if I was coming back to this game for a 'Special Edition' I would want that stuff addressed WAY before adding new characters :/

@rmanthorp: At a certain point it's better to allocate funds into making something new rather than reworking half of a decade old game.

I would gladly play another new Devil May Cry, whether that be a continuation of DmC or the original series. This Special Edition feels superfluous in many ways but at least it satiated everyone that absolutely hated the reboot and felt this was a chance for them to let Capcom know exactly what they want in the future.

@assirra: Yeah it was more just a pipe dream. I never expected them to actually rework the entire game.

Learning that I can't play the entire game as Dante killed any chance I had of playing this, unless it goes on sale for like $5.

There is nothing sarcastic or ironic about peoples' love for Indestructible, it's fuckin' awesome!

@larrydavis: to me I always felt that people were complaining about playing as Nero SO MUCH that they ended up putting Dante in as a character to shut everyone up. I think they wouldn't have had the backtracking if it was designed as originally planned. I could be completely crazy though.

The only intro song that's ever come close to Indestructible is the song that originally started Dragon's Dogma.

I still don't and won't ever get why people complain about the back tracking in this game. Every DMC game of the mainline series has had backtracking of some sort. You also have fought the same bosses multiple times in every DMC game. I really don't see the difference.

HTML video stopping and being just crappy. Now I have to use Youtube, which has no windowed full screen! This is literally the worst thing ever.

Also having problems with both the streaming and HTML 5 on this video. It seems borked. No issues on other videos.
