Quick Look: Digital Combat Simulator: A-10C Warthog

QL of the year?!?!?

Serious flight sims are all about time management, using downtime during your start up procedure to go through setting up weapon profiles and stuff, that way you aren't stuck trying to set up your targeting system while you are flying at bogeys.

Have they ever made like an Flight sim with co-op? allowing one person to pilot and one person to run the gunning systems. That could be a fun time.

I really want to see one of these QLs with a camera on Drew while he is using the full size cockpit controller to attempt to take off.

I just love this Quick Looks they are just so much fun, and show games that most of use do not even know are out there.

This is single handedly the BEST quick look I've seen. Definately the best this year. I was a little skeptical about this quick look, but after 7:30, I knew I had to stick around for the entire thing!

If I ever tried out real aircrafts, I would like these guys to teach me.

This sim is soooo good, Im glad they finally QL'd it.

This game looks insanely complicated. I have to respect Drew for learning all of that stuff, even if he did need notes in the end. I love how the game doesn't automatically quit you out once a whole wing of your plane has exploded.

this QL made me want to get back into flight sims! Great job guys! Now off to build a cockpit...

Yeah, so every pilot has pages and pages of notes, and go through all of them each time they fly. It's so nothing's missed and, say, the wings explode and the left engine catches on fire. Which can happen.

Seems a bit unfair to start out the year with such an incredible quick look. It's going to overshadow the rest of them for the entire of 2012. This was basically TOO BRILLIANT! Come on lads, let's be fair and tone it back a little.

What amazes me is I watched this entire QL from start to finish, but I only watch about 10 or 15 mins of actual games like Gears 3.

@hardindr: As far as I know the Army only uses rotary aircraft (see: helicopters).

I loved once they got all the switches set and Vinny's all like "quick save"

I love fight sims. The attention to detail is so cool.

At first I was like "1 hour of this??"... but 10 minutes in, this is one funny quick look.

Too bad there wasn't a "Best Unintentional Dubstep" on the GOTY discussions, this game would be a lock.

Any time you get Drew, Dave and Vinny- or any combination thereof- into the cockpit of a virtual plane, things will go awesomely.

These quicklooks take the cake. Freaking awesome guys!

That looks far too complicated to be fun. I realize that it's a simulator, and it should be accurate, but at the end of the day a Warthog pilot still gets to fly the thing.

all these acronyms mean NOTHING to me! NOTHING!!!

Though I would never buy a game like this, I love watching these Quick Looks.

I still think the Mad Libs dialogue in this game is worlds better than the system in the ArmA games and Operation Flashpoint.
