Quick Look: Dishonored

The art style makes the graphics look shitty. Did they say they did this QL on xbox or PC?

Does it kind of seem like Metal Gear Solid is the anti Siren: Blood Curse for patrick. He seems to bring it up when he wants to point out when stealth games are doing something "wrong" sort of like how he brought up Siren with every horror game that was brought up as an example of horror done right.

Well, I might pick this up to fill the ch-asm created by Bioshock not coming out this year. This game could almost pass for a Bioshock mod.

Meh, there should never be a QL w/o at least Jeff or Brad on it.

yea i dunno, the game behind it looks well made , but the look is not clicking with me, personally prefer human revolution over this,

might be swinging for xcom over this for this week.

There were multiple points in this video where I said out loud to myself "that was fucking awesome." Looks great. I can't wait to play it.

This is the Bioshockiest game I've seen since Bioshock; one issue I do have though, is that your character (pronounced: cha-rac-ter) seems to be a little on the over-powered side of things.

Also, first person characters reallllllllllly need legs (see: Mirror's Edge).

Is this game open world? Linear? Is there an inventory? Roughly about how long is it? Is it people giving me missions for the entire thing? I know nothing about the design of this game. Telling me it's like Deus Ex doesn't help me, I don't have that point of reference. I have so many questions while watching this and all Ryan does is watch and Patrick only explains the details. Help.

No, yes, no, doesn't matter, yes but it's separated into discreet missions with sub-mission as is explained. Read the review.

I know Patrick is super into blink, but I'm just more interested in how fluid the general vaulting over things looks.

Thanks, I did just read the review and along your comment clears up some other questions I had about the game, I just wish they explained what the game was from the get go during the quick look.

Isn't he from the Chicago area? In Indiana people pronounce it that way all the time, so probably a midwest (US) thing. Same with words like archangel (saying it as "arch" instead of "ark").

The stylized status bars (health/mana(?)) kind of makes it look like a game from 5-6 years ago.

So far this game looks fun. But my only point of reference for stealth games is Deus Ex: Human Revolution so if it's not a lot like that it might throw me off.

I don't regret choosing XCOM over this, at least for the short term, but this game still looks pretty awesome and I will totally pick it up during the Steam holiday sale when I can get it for 50% off or something similarly incredulous.

Call me crazy but this game does nothing for me, looks bland, and boring. But that's just me.

@MasterVerhoffin I finished the game 3 times so I liked it as well.

Looking forward to get my hands on it.It seems to be doing pretty well thus far review wise.

Lots of abilities. Would be nice if you could bind em to seperate keys in the PC version.

This is news to me too! I say Cas-um, myself, but I have certainly heard people say CH-ASM.

I can't afford to buy this right now and that really bums me out. Can't wait to eventually play it.

He doesn't like the game. I fail to see how you could possibly come to the conclusion that he's "trolling."

I'm the same way. It looks like City 17-meets-Bioshock-meets-Deus Ex, and I'd rather play both bioshock and Deux Ex before this game, because they're both unique. I don't particularly like the art style and the combat/traversal doesn't look very fun. I enjoy hacking and turning an enemy's defenses against them, and without computers and turret emplacements and security cameras, this game has nothing for me.

But I'm just trolling.

2012 is the year of the Assassin. See Assassin's Creed 3, Hitman, and Dishonored.

This looks exactly like a Bioshock game. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Ryan's complete silence to when Patrick explains how you make a guy shoot himself felt... strange. Like, that's the sort of creativity I'd expect would have Ryan at least give out an ''awesome'' or something.

Anywhoo I'm not diggin' the art style, but this otherwise looks pretty intriguing. I'm most certainly a fan of Human Revolution, so all of dat choice when it comes to gameplay sounds highly appealing. With this, Mark of the Ninja and Hitman Absolution, 2012 could turn out to be a great year for stealth games.

Yeah I mean, it looks a lot like Bioshock to me, but I played that game for its setting and story, not the combat, this game seems to have a very unappealing setting to me, looks bland.

But then again, expressing distaste is just trolling. ;)

yea......as much as i appreciate the effort that goes into making these QLs guys,

dont do these when your tired (especially coming off a long simgolf stream)

kinda didn't learn much of the game, didn't even see much of the other powers, and saw no story and not much of the world, and plus ryan doesnt say shit for 80 percent of the quick look so this leads me to believe this game isnt clicking for him.

i know patrick watches comments. so here is some constructive criticism if your lurking around scoopz man, you should have showed more of the other powers and locations and some of the story via jumping around in your saves, like you should have showed some of the cooler missions you mentioned in your review. rather than blink around and stab dudes. cause what you showed looked well made, but personally i couldnt help but be a bit bored by what you showed here and i like these types of games

i dont know why, im not one to care about graphics a ton but this game just looks really washed out to me. The water also looks like shit.
