Quick Look: Duke Nukem Forever

Jeff and Ryan sound so ill in this QL, and not in the cool sense.

Anyone else get the impression that their soul has been sucked out and their mind emotionally drained just by looking, nevermind playing, this game for extended periods of time?

You sound like a girl saying "oh thats so grose!" while watching a splatter movie and all one can say is "Thats the way it should be"

Nothing wrong with FPS puzzles or platforming as long as it's done well but clearly the type of platforming and puzzles presented in Forever have not aged well.Mirror's Edge was based around platforming and it was good.

Have you even played the game? The puzzles and platforming were actually implemented pretty well. The platforming was fun and interesting in their own right, especially when you were shrunk, it broke up the action quite nicely. Of course, every time the Giant Bomb cast says a game sucks, people always jump in to indefinitely agree with their brainless, joyless, humorless asses. I love how they take points off of Duke Nukem Forever because the premise of the game is stupid, like they actually expected this to be a serious game or something....I wouldn't put it past them, after all, they constantly embezzle money off of their fans with that whole "Premium Account" bullshit. Also, I find it very funny that they criticize the humor in this game, when they themselves say stupid shit like "Uh uh uh yeah" to perhaps make somebody laugh at what a pathetic attempt at humor. Just by looking at the review, I can see Jeff didn't explain anything at all. Why is the shooting boring? Why are platforming and driving sections bad? Why is the game-play repetitive? Why are you such a fucking idiot? We'll never know, because everyone here at Giant Bomb is a terrible reviewer that never explains any of his points in detail. Watching these guys trying to give a valid opinion on a game is like watching a dog trying to turn a doorknob; "Oh look, he doesn't have thumbs, he's still trying to do it but never will!"

@MrNeoshredder: They didn't hate on the game because it was stupid. They hated on the game because the humor is like a 5 year old just heard some swear words for the first time and thinks he's going to be cool if he just fires them off non-stop. I understand you enjoy the game and that's fine but is it REALLY necessary to attack the people who work for Giant Bomb because they dislike a game that you like.

I'm a huge fan of Giant Bomb and yet, I disagree with SO MUCH of what they say. That's what I like about them. They are going to say things that you are necessarily not going to want to hear and it's OK because,at the end of the day, it's not like their word is law. I personally think their reviews are usually great and they tell just what I want to know as far as shooting controls or whatever. "Why are the shooting controls bad?" Who cares? If they are bad, do I REALLY need to know why? It's not like it's going to make it any better if they tell me why it's bad.

I realize your comment was from a couple months ago and I'm sorry if I've offended you or anything by replying to it but I just really don't like it when someone just comes on the site and hates the Giant Bomb staff and users just because they don't always say things that everyone is going to like. I think everyone who works at Giant Bomb works really hard. Hell, all game journalists work really hard and when they get called idiots for having an opinion and simply doing their job, it's just a bit upsetting.

Now, if you are going to call me an brainless/humorless/whatever other name you call people here on Giant Bomb, by all means, go ahead. I don't blame you. I am just some random asshole on the internet.

This game is disgusting

I bought this game a long time ago and finally decided to play it just to see what everyone talked about. I agree with Jeff 10000%. This game was boring and dumb.

God this is so great. Ryan just being silent during the loading and during Jeff's struggling is so good.
