Game looks great--day 1 purchase great--but goddamn if the end of this video isn't infuriating. I guess the guy is showing off systems but he could have just left if he evaded the big ships long enough.

This looks great!

So this is it. This might just be the game that pushes me to not only leave my 360, but to leave it for a PS4. The cards have been stacking that way slowly for a while, but I think this was the one that that's gonna push me over that edge.

I am pretty sure this game is going to be fire.

Starting to consider getting a PS4 early (you know, MGS5) to play this (and bloodborne).

If your game is a relatively tight, focused experience without a ton of systems and features, like this seems to be, you don't want to give everything away too early and risk the hype cooling off before the game is out. A week or two before release is the perfect time to drop a big, cool new feature to get the game back on the radar and get everyone amped just in time for the release. If this had been revealed last year, you wouldn't have people (in this very comment section!) getting super excited and pre-ordering the game just before release. An ideal strategy, really.

It's funny...this mech looks like it's way more mobile than Mobile Suit Gundams. Though I'm not a Gundam expert, so I could be wrong.

the movement looks real fun in this. definitely going to be looking out for when it comes to PC.

The game looks fun, but I feel like I'm the only one who's not hyped about the visuals. I love the idea of trying to make it look like an 80s sci-fi anime, and that could have been effin' rad-- but I don't feel like they accomplished it at all. It looks more like something from that late 90s era of North American animation where they were trying to capitalize on the popularity of anime by attempting to ape the style, while usually failing miserably. It's got this weird, flash cartoon look to it that I am really not digging.

Considering it's trying to be 70's - 80's anime (especially with the ship turning into a Gundam). I think 17-Bit really missed a trick with the visuals on items like the character art.

The vector based 'flash-esque" characters don't fit in with stuff like the game logo or the map screen at all. Considering this period anime had it's unique look mostly because it was done on the cheap, the indie studio $$ thing doesn't really make sense when there's very few frames of animation in the vector graphics either?

It also isn't very difficult to find extremely talented, amateur manga artists who will work for cheap on this new fangled technology called the internet ;P

The English voices also need to be way more hammy.

If this went all the way with its period anime homage (yet also being a cool rogue-lite) then GOTY candidate for sure.

@drmantistabogganmd: haven't played Far Cry but the first Halo's AI is incredible. It's hard but fair on Legendary and the AI is actually smarter, not just more resiliant (which they are obviously are too). Unlike Halo 2 which is just BS difficulty on Legendary, but that whole game was a mess. I seriously recommend playing Halo on Legendary again, it holds up. The Elites are still crafty as fuck.

@jackburtonme: I can't remember the specifics but because of Windows 8, MS wanted to push their 3 screens thing so you could play it on your phone, PC or Xbox. The problem was that each version was priced separately so while it sounded cool to do that, the pricing structure made no sense. Coupled with no one really caring about the Windows store and a really botched phone version, I can't imagine it sold well, at least initially.

It depends. It's also pretty likely someone would just write it off as an Asteroids clone or something and then never pay attention to it from that point on (I know a couple of people who have done exactly this). Plus, it's not like everyone who's potentially interested in it would watch this video, or even see a blurb about the transformation mechanic.

I think it looks cool, don't get me wrong, I'm just saying that I find it hard to believe that this would constitute a major upswing in sales from holding it back until the last weeks before release.

Also, the dev said preordering gets you 5 dollars off, but it is in fact FOUR dollars off! Liar! LIAR! BURN HIM!

I never thought I'd be doing a digital pre-order but after watching this I'm sold. Excited to play this and 8/4 can't come fast enough.

Game looks great and I know they are releasing on the PS4 first but I do wish they had the Steam store page up for it already so I could wishlist/follow it so I do not forget about it by the time it does release on Steam.

Between this and the Magic Circle, it's been a good time for VB voice actors in video games.(Also the 17 bit team is a great group of guys. Really help out the Seattle Indie scene.)
