Sounds underwhelming so far. An expansion with more story stuff would be preferable. Either that or a sequel. I see a lot of people are interested in this though, so good luck =)

I thought this already came out and was wondering why there were no reviews. Seems it's actually not out yet! I'm still undecided, so nice to get a look at it here.

I'm a huge, huge, huge fan of Enemy Unknown. Played over 300 hours on 360, recently also bought it on PC. Finished Impossible, finished all second wind options and still want to play more of it.

This is the only game I've ever followed extremely closely to see what's going to be in it. I was never as interested in an expansion as this one. I seriously can't wait to play this. All the new content looks/sounds great.

I love you guys for making this.

PS: I really hope you fixed the most annoying bugs like teleport and flanking bug though.

I like how clearly they are there to show off Exalt and covert missions and Vinny is just asking about whatever he wants. They guy seemed apprehensive at first 'b-but exalt?'.

I just wish this guy would turn off "PR mode" and just talk about the game more casually. Quick Look EXs are always hit or miss as far as entertainment value is concerned, I'd say this was a miss.

If you ask me, this is exactly how DLC should be done. It's the perfect reason to come back to the game after you've forgotten a lot and it's sorta like getting a fresh start on a game you know is awesome. If this had come out a month after release it would just be a nice little bonus to a game I was still enjoying. Now it's so much more.

Theres much more to it than just what is being showcased in this video. They mention a few but you can always look it up to get more facts.

Went from misguided to traitor pretty quick. Typical gubinent attitude....can I play on the Exalt side? Unless they are like those guys who mass suicided some years back. I like the gubinent more than suicide, comparatively speaking.

QL EX's are a sometimes un-necessary evil to me. But this didn't go for too long.

It's as enhancing, if not more so, than the Civ expansions. And XCOM is pretty similar, though single player only.

The original game is great but I don't really want this. It feels like X COM Enemy Unknown came out many years ago for some reason. I was more looking forward to a sequel than an add-on.

Sounds underwhelming so far. An expansion with more story stuff would be preferable. Either that or a sequel. I see a lot of people are interested in this though, so good luck =)

Why would Firaxis add more story elements when Enemy Unknown had the most laughable cliched and generic story in any video game from 2012 and yet still sold incredibly well. Don't even get me started on that ending. Fuck. How did Enemy Unknown earn GOTY last year?

Because it's a strategy game, who gives a shit about story in Xcom? The story is "Aliens are invading, go kill them" and also some fluff when you research stuff.

The third expansion should have introduced XDEL and getting all three in the same mission would reboot the universe.

Anyway, weird EX demo aside, the music got me right back and wanting to do another XCOM run... but now I have to wait for the expansion to be out, because I don't want to start and lose progress when the thing hits.

I guess mission accomplished for the game's marketers? But not really, because come on, I was always going to buy this right away. I was already gone.

Man I really hope they redesign the final mission a bit at least.

By the end any Xcom:EU campaign just became a steamroll and the final mission was one of the least challenging parts of the game. If you go into that same mission with even more powerful new toys it would be kinda sad.

OMG those bugs broke the game for me. Completed it twice but they steered me away from ever trying a run on the hardest difficulty.

Also, really really wish that enemies would actively patrol instead of just standing in set areas.

Because it's called Game of the Year. Not story of the year which is the only thing you seem to be taking into account. The gameplay was superb. If you're looking at an XCOM expansion for more story then you really didn't get what the game was about in the first place.

It's like saying you play Borderlands for the story. People don't play these types of games over and over and over again because the story is so great.

Thing is, after I played through the main campaign of Enemy Unknown I don't really want to do it again. I like that they're doing an old-fashioned expansion but it could have done with an expansion-style campaign to go with it.

Im confused - is this an add-on to my existing game? Or a completely new, stand alone game?

Either way, I'm in - love me some Xcom.

Because Xcom's gameplay trumps the simple story it has. Same thing happened to Walking Dead that got a lot of awards because the story and storytelling mechanics trump the lack of gameplay.

I still play Enemy Unknown to this day. I've played it countless times. I'm on game 24 or something. I think this expansion is more aimed at players like myself. It's just meant as a breath of fresh air so people can continue playing like they did before. Civilization has received many of these style of expansion packs. They work really well for the core crowd that was still playing that game anyway.

I actually think it's pretty cool they do this stuff.

It's really strange to me how people think of X-Com as having a campaign. You can hear it from how Jeff and Vinny talks about the game too. It's like you haven't understood the point of the game at all.

I get it if you didn't enjoy the gameplay, but then why would you even finish it. The whole point of the game is that if you enjoy the gameplay you can play it over and over and be met with new challenges. Sure it does get somewhat predictable after a while, but thinking you've explored the game after one playthrough is just strange to me.
