I think the concept here is good, but in my time with the beta I always had such a hard time figuring out what was going on. Nothing feels like it has impact. Most of the time when I died I had no idea how.

The game seems fun, but the grinding/microtransaction system they've constructed around it is a real bummer.

This game uses GWFL. It has no dedicated servers and no server listings. Getting a match to start is a patience test as is always the case under those terms. PC users consider yourself warned. I keep going into the same shit like that without reading up ahead of time.

The DLC that's out there is just stuff to customise your person and you can unlock it through playing. You buy the game for $15 and that's it.

Oh. I'm buying it even less now.

They really should've just made this F2P I think.

I doubt it'll stay not-f2p for long.

This game is a travesty on the PC. People, myself included, are having a terrible time with the frame rate. There's no discernible reason for this: none of the systems reporting these problems should have them. This game is so poorly optimized my head is reeling.

I've heard it takes a really long time to unlock stuff and you can pay for a x1.25-1.50 multiplier.

And they are going to offer premium costumes by the sound of the item description here.

Unlocks all standard costume pieces. Does not include premium costumes.

I'm now confused as to why this game costs money. It has the same revenue hooks as a F2P game right?

I suppose that with all of the microtransactions and tons of progression that they are trying to retain as large a playerbase as possible. I don't know about that on Xbox Live Arcade though. Even the popular shooters that started off well like Monday Night Combat ended up with like no more than like 50 people by the 6 month mark.

The two big problems with this game are GFWL on PC, which as usual is barely functional. The second is the cash shop, which invalidates the entire point of a leveling mechanic since you can just cheat the game by paying money.

Looks like Call of duty gameplay with a bit of tf2 silliness in a batman theme. In other words awesome.

I play SSF4AE on the PC all the time, works fine, same with Arkham City, you guys don't know what you're talking about.

Right, I forgot! Your subjective experience with GFWL titles means that people complaining about it don't know what they're talking about! Obviously you are not an edge case, and GFWL has done so well that no publisherhas abandoned it and Microsoft's own titles don't appear on other services!

No. They totally know what they're talking about. Good to hear you lucked out on GFWL experiences, though.

I asked for reasons why GFWL is a deal breaker on PC games. I got none, just repeating the argument that "GFWL IS BAD, NUFF SAID". Damn straight I use my subjective experience as my examples of why GFWL isn't the devil. You linked me 3 steam pages, the same pages I used to buy Arkham City and L.A. Noire(I haven't installed that one yet so I can't speak for it's GFWL integration). If you're implying that the fact that "they are sold on steam" as a point toward why GFWL is bad just doesn't cut it for me. Steam is possibly the most popular PC download only market, it'd be dumb for those games to not be on steam. You can still by Arkham City on the GFWL market. The GFWL market is crap, absolutely, the but the service does what what I expect it too. It isn't pure shit that destroys your game experience and it sure isn't the awesomeness that is the steam experience. It works at what it does. I still don't see the hate it gets. It's clunky, that's about only thing it's got going against it, at least it has been in, "MY OWN PERSONAL SUBJECTIVE EXPERIENCES."

Bought this on Steam on a whim and it was the most bullshit experience I had for a while... Not the same itself, but getting to play it.

After launching it on Steam, I was told to log in to Windows Live. Since I hadn't used Windows Live for a while, I had to exit the game to update it and after that was done and I *finally* remembered my password, I was presented with a screen to "Create my Warner ID", which I tried to skip, but got told that I practically needed it for weapons and stuff.

After being stuck in matchmaking for a while I had immediately spend so much time on setting up all that shit that I didn't actually have time to play it.

Why I publishers holding the games I've bought for hostage like that??? Jesus Christ!

Well that seems like it is kind of cool, and it definitely isn't a military FPS so it is refreshing to a certain bit.

Multiplayer focused, downloadable game? No matter how good it is, it will fail.

This is the one thing stopping me from buying it. Looks super fun, but it'll probably be dead within weeks. These types of games you need to play a ton near release to really get the maximum value from.

W-what?

Okay let's get into this: There is a lot wrong with Games for Windows Live.

A friend and I have lost multiple saves because of Games for Windows Live hiccups. Whether it's the inconsistency of saving between "Offline" mode and "Online" mode or what. Much like Ubisoft, there are many games you are unable to play without being able to connect to Games for Windows Live. A lot of games that have a relatively healthy amount of people on them on say, consoles, are absolutely barren when it comes to Games for Windows Live. Games for Windows Live requires you to use Microsoft Points, much like Xbox. Except, Xbox has a lot more support than Games for Windows Live does. Also if there are inconsistencies between your version of Games for Windows Live and the one you're "supposed" to use for "this game," it will outright not work.

So yes. There is a lot of problems with Games for Windows Live. How my opinion and experiences with Games for Windows Live makes you vomit is beyond me, and sounds more like a personal problem. You should probably get that looked at by a doctor. There's nothing wrong with the medical system.

I don't see why people cry over GFWL... I've never had any issues with it, usually its the devs/publishers that add on extra crap that worsens everything.
