I don't think race car drivers drive hand over hand like normal people... Has something to do with them being able to do quick dodges.

Dunno I think I am gonna buy NFS now, and whait for Dirt 3 for my simulation needs.

Really excited to play GT5, unfortunately I don't have the time right now so I'll have to wait until finals are over. Super pumped though!

20 minutes in - they actually start the process of getting ready to play the game. lol

This is amazing. 

The environments are pretty weak. I guess they used up all of their polygons rendering those cars.

This... makes me want to go play some Forza 3.

Not really that impressed. I thought the cars would REALLY look nice. Have not seen anything that has wowed me yet.

I suppose because it's taken so long, people are expecting it to be the best looking game ever, which it's not. It's not bad looking but it's not what a lot of people were expecting. After such a long wait and so much hype (especially from PS and GT fanboys), nasty aliasing and flat ground textures definitely stand out more.  Also, I'm not really a fan of the lighting model this game uses. To steal a line from the Joystiq review it's as if the sun is everywhere!  "

Jeff: damage is not enabled in Arcade mode, and the damage in career mode increases in intensity and detail as you level up. The game charges you for damages to the car, so the system kinda makes sense. A patch is coming this weekend to enable damage in Arcade mode though. Don't worry. It's there.

Amazing how any game nowadays can be this fucking cumbersome.

I have to be honest. I would NOT advise people to buy this game unless they have a wheel and like to play with Professional physics turned on. Otherwise, Forza 3 is clearly the more accessible and consistently fun game. You really have to invest yourself fully in Gran Turismo to get anything worthwhile from it. 

Looks like the driving simulator I was expecting, nothing but a heavy focus on cars, tracks and physics and the best menu music since the Unreal Tournament 2 Alpha.

There is no way I could go back to playing an arcade racing game after being on iRacing for so long.  Laser scanned cars/tracks >>> anything gran turismo can come up with.

This game...well, the soundtrack is absolutely abhorrent. And I could not possibly be less interested in what this has to offer. At least Forza kind of intrigues me in a way. It seems like though this game does some things totally well, it ignores a lot of advances made in the past six years or so in racing games.

I agree...the graphics are a tad underwhelming.  Look back to the vids they were releasing and trying to pass off as gameplay that looks photorealistic.  But...still...the game looks good and I'll soon check out the gameplay.  But, Forza had some prettyjanky looking interiors for the cars I thought.  As far as I'm concerned, tho...this and Forza are the only 2 racing games that matter that aren't overly arcadey.  Not a big fan of Dirt or Burnout. "

Especially when they have no idea about the game they are commenting on, or how it really works - or how nay progression is. 
And hey, the game was janky and slow as hell on LAUNCH DAY 
Love to see how efficient and smooth a black ops multiplayer quick look would've been on day one :/

I like how they call everyone who plays driving games as if they were fans of cars and driving as "crazy" :P I doubt very much that people who use manual transmission is crazy. It's really not that hard to do. When your engine goes iiiii you click R1. 
 
Other than that, this game looks like the same old dull-ass non-simulator-game it's always been. Stepping stone into actual racing sims. Like what HAWX is to Lomac and stuff.

Honestly I want this game because of how hardcore it is. Ive heard people say its boring with the endless tuning but that just makes me want it more.

It took nearly 10 minutes to get to the fucking menu. That was the most pretentious, pointless, unnecassarily long intro I've ever seen. To make it worse, once you actually get to the menu you find out that it's hideous, cumbersome and, if what I've been hearing is correct, doesn't even work properly.
 
I'm sure the game's great, but damn, that's a lot of crap to get through. Also, that menu music is face distortingly awful.
