Yeah, it's not real subtle. Neither Patrick nor Ryan picked up on it though.

Agreed, really like the art style & voted for it on Greenlight. Love how the in-game map works & the writing is stellar. Should be a fun time with this one.

@patrickklepek man! thanks for showing off this game. The art is amazing, its like Googie architecture meets I.M. Pei. Really neat and seems pretty well written. It's also some thing I would not of heard about unless you showed this. so i will be checking this out this weekend...unfortunately I didn't watch the whole QL, spoilers and such :P

It's kind one of my issues as I've thought about agency in games, people saying like "I wanna choose my fate" but that's kinda not how agency works in life.

I'm sure that was what they said, and not "We could spend a bit more time on this game and make these choices actually matter, but let's all take naps. People will buy this shit anyway."

Okay, I'm way into this. The art style, the sound design, the Lynchian atmosphere... seems promising.

@SupberUber: It's fairly well known, in the sense that they've talked about it many times on various Bombcasts, and he just did a story on it the other day.

Seems like another "art" game with a cool premise, thanks for bringing this to our attention Patrick! Looks right up my alley.

Edit: also, why in the world does Ryan always read the text printed on screen in quick looks? If it's for the viewer, it's pointless. If it's the only way he can read, then how is allowed to leave his house?

Watched the first few minutes and then looked it up on Greenlight to vote for it. I'm not usually into adventure games, but something about the art style and general weirdness really grabbed my attention. Every conversation in this game kind of sounds like something I might hear in a dream that I can only half-remember. The words make sense but the way they're used often doesn't.

Bought the first episode after seeing it was nominated in the IGF. Gorgeous game but not far enough into it to comment on the story. Definitely promising, though.

Needs spoken dialog.

Needs more audio overall.

Maybe it's because I'm not a native English speaker but I swear every time Patrick opens his mouth at least one of the words that comes out is totally unknown to me. It's just easier to let it go than to try to think what the hell was it that he just said.

I really don't think so. Normally I'm all for voicework but in this case I like it better the way it is. Really cool and interesting looking, definetely looking this up on Greenlight.

Holy shit, this looks great. The art style immediately struck me as directly from Alone in the Dark.

Man... couldn't watch all of this. After 15 minutes I just wanted to play it for my self unspoiled.

I have to admit, that this time of year when the guys have the time to stretch their legs a little and cover some of the lesser known releases is one of my favorite times of the year on the site. I love seeing stuff like this.

It's not you, he just often says words incorrectly.

These are two different issues. I agree that Patrick should clarify certain terms/acronyms that are a little too inside baseball for most readers (not everyone knows what IGF is). However, his job is to articulate his opinions. He can't just say "I like it. It's good," he has to use a wider vocabulary to get his point across clearly and succinctly. That's not grandiloquence, it's just good writing.

Funny how there are several mentions of the IGF by people who apparently know their stuff. I dunno - if you're commenting on a video games website on a video of an indie game, I would assume you knew a thing or two about a thing or two. IGF isn't some obscure indie collaboration - I believe it's been around for about 14 years, and expanding every year. I don't think Patrick has to spell everything out, especially, I repeat, on a hardcore video games website.

Although Patrick does occasionally mispronounce a word he's yet to pull out vocabulary I haven't understood. Asking someone who talks and writes for a living to limit their word usage for non-native English speakers is just about the last thing you should do.
