5+ years ago is basically the dark ages. HL2 was barely done, and Blizzard were testing the MMO waters with their largely-unknown World of Warcraft.  Charging for DLC is what happens now. It takes man-hours to produce, and those people need to eat. Whether $10 is a good price for this particular DLC is a different matter, but charging nothing would be very irresponsible. "

Ummm, we got DLC like this a lot of the time back then, hate to tell you.    

This did not take anywhere near the man hours needed to justify a $10 price tag, this is a money grab from loyal fans plain and simple.

My memories are slightly less rosy, shall we say? Beside the point anyway; those times are long gone. History. They were dead the moment id charged for Team Arena and every other company felt stupid for giving stuff away.

I don't feel entitled to more free content, and yes they can charge whatever they like, I am just not going to pay $10 for this and I am urging others to do the same, that is all.  I don't know why my acknowledgement of the fact that we used to get better content for free and that this is not up my alley gameplay wise anyway equates to you as some sort of spoiled and entitled rant on my part.  The simple fact is some hastily thrown together arena matches using identical enemies and assets as the base game is not equal to 1/5th the entire game in cost or interest.

I'm digging these tunes.

After watching the video here and the one at IGN; I don't think I'm gonna buy this DLC.  I'm all about adding content to a game, but from what I've heard there won't be any XP at all and I haven't heard if there will be any major weapon drops but none of the enemies killed in the QL dropped any weapons.  This is what this game was built upon, weapons and leveling your character up.  Why take that out.
I'm not saying that $10 or even $5 is worth this.  I'd had easily paid $10 if it had XP and weapon drops but from what i've heard/seen there isn't one single bit of it.  
I bought all 4 Fallout DLC's, Oblivion, Halo, Burnout, and pretty much anything else that I was interested in.  But this to me doesn't seem to offer anything right now that I want from Borderlands.  Just my opinion.

I'm interested in the bank, but I'm not really into those arenas.  Not sure I really want this one.

I would get this mainly for the inventory box, which is a necessity when you have millions of guns and is what I feel the main game is lacking, as well as a interesting story. The arenas is pretty uninteresting for me though.

I'm very split on this DLC.  I feel like Gearbox knew many would probably skip this due to the frankly lame arena content, but added the bank storage to it, making it a must-buy to any Borderlands veteran.  A very carrot on a stick situation that makes me lose some respect for them.  The lack of a bank was a huge negative for the stand-alone game, if they are adding one, it should be part of a content patch.
 
So far this looks like very little is here besides the bank.  XP can be gotten anywhere, no guns dropped in the QL, so it's basically $10 for what should have been part of the game Day 1.  If you're into arena deathmatch, Maybe this is more attractive than ZI, but I think I'm safe in assuming that the majority of Borderlands players looking for more game aren't too excited by blunderdome.

Just hope they don't load this one up with Securom on the Steam version like the last DLC. Have to give this one a miss as well if they do.

This game looks great, I am a little excited to get back to school now so I can download it for my xbox!

I can't believe people are complaining about $10.
 
People wanted a bank, so they added a bank, and this is the internet, so people complain.
 
Firefights like this in Borderlands are so much fun, and there are far too few of them in the game.  Usually you've got the freedom to back off and snipe, but this seems to force you into those frantic "boss fight area" fights.  The game got a bit easy near the end, so a real challenge will be nice.

Jeff REALLY needs to use a shotgun with his soldier. Heck even Sledge's Shotgun would be beasting through this area, especially if he has a good Commando attachment. 
 
He also needs to invest in extended mags. A 3 shot burst Sledge Shotgun 1 hitted everything for me through 7/8 of the game.

Personally I don't think it would be good if you could ever get enough skill points to max out every skill (like if they ever raised the level cap to 70, and didn't add more skills). That you have to specialize is one of the neat things about the class system.

I'm all for DLC aslong as it's actually worth the money, but nowadays DLC is adding less and less content and is costing more and more.
 
If Gearbox do release anymore DLC they better include more content with it or they wont be getting any of my money.

When my friend and I played through, I was Berserker and he was Siren, and I'm seeing Soldier in these videos. Obviously all the characters have different passive stuff that might make them awesome in various ways, but it really seems like everyone's active skill sucks in comparison to Bricks "become almost invincable and blow everything up with super exploding punches for half a minute" active skill.
 
I still haven't seen the snipers ultra though.

Borderlands was one of those games where it feels like there is a rift in the development team.  There are some brilliant ideas that get rather ho-hum execution and then there are some terrible ideas that get a professional spit shine.  It's bizarre and I can't say I'm eager for a sequel.
 
The DLC was fairly lackluster in my opinion, they seem more focused on the buck than the bang.  The PR speak coming out of Gearbox is hilariously bad too.  "Our fans really wanted arenas and didn't like how confusing the progression system was, they wanted more simplified formats".  Bullshit, I don't know anyone on the PC or 360 who wanted a more simple version of Borderlands and I highly doubt people were crowing for hours of meaningless arenas.
 
They seem determined to run this game into the ground.

I know people didn't like this one, but Moxxi's VA is amazing.
