About time for that DLC to finally show up and give me a reason to go back to this game.

I hated that they split the Hobbit book into three movies when it was first annouced, but I've loved the first two movies. Have yet to see the third one.

Listening to Brad recount the LOTR history and Tolkien's past was pretty interesting, actually.

Few things are as futile as Brad trying to explain the intricacies of Tolkien's writings to Dan.

Not integrating all this stuff into the main game is simply moronic, but I can't complain too much about more Mordor.

Could we get a Brad and Alexa podcast trying to explain the LOTR lore? i was genuinely more intrested in listening to Brad then looking at the game.

I'd argue that The Silmarillion is not only one of the best pieces of written fiction out there but also a better "read" than LoTR

Agree to disagree there, I found The Silmarillion to be a terrible read. Interesting, but not a good read. Then again I'm not the biggest LOTR fan.

Aww, I like The Hobbit movies. The "CGI crapfests" are really well executed and fun. It's not Lord of the Rings (btw, Brad is crazy if he thought anything about Return of the King was disappointing) but it's goofy, silly fun.

I do hope people do not hate this QL, cause it's pretty good.

I normally get frustrated when Brad forgets to actually play the game, but that was a really interesting tangent. (and I don't give much of a damn about LOTR, although I enjoyed the movies, so that's saying something)

I loved the game, but feel no need to return to it.

Also, Lord of the Rings is great.

desolation of smaug 2nd hobbit film is better then first. Peter Jackson always has problems with pace in his films he tends to work out problems by 2nd film it was same in fellowship then had far better pace in two towers. just shame that brad judges the hobbit films based on 1st one

and on The Silmarillion its not meant to be good read in many ways just a history book and is described as a collection of his works. but is awesome for that reason because alot of it shows in many ways how he developed middle earth and crazy amount of lore and back story that world has.

The idea that this might be the site's GOTY shows how dire this year was unless you owned a Wii U

Yea, they're goofy fun. The book has a very different tone from Lord of the Rings so it's not surprising that the movies do too. Lord of the Rings is an epic and The Hobbit is a children's book so making the movies a bit sillier was a good decision. I liked them anyway.

Could we please please get a Bomb after Reading of Cinnamon Girl? With Dan and Brad explaining him all stuff of LotR shit. I'm a huge LotR nerd (read the trilogy thrice this past year and the Silmarillion twice) and would love to hear someone elses insight into Tolkien lore.

Educational hour with Bradley Shoemaker. Brad made the LOTR far more intriguing then the movies ever did. He answered so many of my "What the F is happening?" questions.

Man, Brad looking at the runes and not seeing them is the Most Brad thing I can think of.

Man, I think a series where Brad just explains Lord of the Rings stuff to Dan (or anyone) would be pretty cool to watch/listen to. At least I know I'd watch it.

Just listening to Brad was more interesting than watching the game.

Dan and Brad are a great combination as are Dan and Drew.

Maybe I didn't phrase it well, but the point I was trying to make was that you don't take your existing rune loadout in from the main game.

"NO RUNES?!" said people looking at the screen that said "Runes available".

That didnt seem like the best section to show with the stealth. That AI looked awful. Still cant get past how flat the geometry is in this game. Nothing feels organic. It all looks fake and contrived. Im sure wont be fixed until they make a new engine. Which wont be for at least two more games. They really need to fire some art direction people imo.

Ugh! It was such an amazingly bad year for gaming. I come off really hard on this game. It was ok... Id give it about a 7, but man.....Soooo far from a great game, let alone GoTY.

Was thinking of this...how about while dan is playing lego lotr (seems like a game he can get into...)

@tits_matador: I dunno, I think him looking at the world map with two main missions right in front of him, and saying basically "Is this it, no more main missions?" Is more Brad.

I could listen Brad teaching Dan about LOTR for hours.

DLC looks pretty fun if you want more mordor. Too bad it still seems fairly easy once you know what weaknesses to exploit. Would love an option to get rid of weaknesses like 'vulnerable to stealth' on higher up warchiefs.

It was a little dry, but Brad teaching LotoR was the best part of this QL

@brad there absolutely is reference to Sauron as an eye in the LOTR books. For instance when Frodo looks in the Mirror of Galadriel: "The Eye was rimmed with fire, but was itself glazed, yellow as a cat's, watchful and intent, and the black slit of its pupil opened on a pit, a window into nothing"

I thought the 1st part of the Silmarillion was pretty rough to get through but all of the rest of it was really cool to read about especially all the warring and stories about the Silmarils. It definitely provides even more depth into what is left of all of these "greater" predecessors going down into something like only Shelob being left and that kind of thing.

This looks weird to someone who hasn't played the main game. Riding on a huge wolf six feet in front of enemies but they don't notice you?
