What's the deal with homeruns? How come half the balls hitting the crowd are outs and half are homeruns?

I love this more than the game of baseball...which I don't like. But, go Rangers....

Man, I can't wait to see the PS4 version of this. Not because I have any interest in Baseball, but sport games tend to look awesome and MLB 14 looks pretty good for a PS3 game so I can't wait to see what they can do on PS4.

yeah, I noticed this too. I was watching on my TV [a 50" 1080p panel] via Youtube on the X1 and when Drew adjusted the resolution there was suddenly overscan and a portion of the image was cut off. When i look at it now on my PC via the html5 player, I see the border and the upscaling fills in the frame.

Odd.

@manlybeast: I will never understand people who go into a GB sports QL and still, after all these years, find it "painful" to watch them play the game badly. Come on.

Really wish they would at least learn the basic controls before playing any game. Makes for a funny video but if i was coming to learn anything about this game it would immediately make me go somewhere else.

This is my same complaint about UPF. Funny stuff but really doing the games a disservice by not learning basic controls before showing them off.

In a home run derby, anything not a HR is an out.

I didn't really think there were any fat baseball players. I thought you had to be in pretty good shape to run and throw both at bat and in the field. I guess these teams are big enough that they can have fat players.

No Shea is definitely not standing. Citi field is pretty awesome though.

I once saw a for realsies bench clearing team on team scuffle in person when I was a kid. My mom and I were in the states to visit my grandparents and we went to see the local AA team play. I had a hotdog and pretended I knew how to eat sunflower seeds. I still don't know how to eat sunflower seeds. Anyway, the burly brawl was really funny.

The presentation of this game is fantastic. I can't wait for the PS4 version.

If it hasn't been said yet, this game looks like an up rez'd version of the vita game. I hope that's not a bad sign for the PS4 version. I'm sure it just means all the development went into that one. That said, on the vita it looks pretty good and I might pick it up there. Anyone know if they are doing that upgrade thing with this like some games did at launch of the new consoles. (CoD, Battlefield)

@peleus: To be fair, I don't think Giant Bomb expects anyone to come to a sports game quicklook looking to learn anything about the game. They've made pretty clear sports and anime aren't their thing, and if they are doing a quicklook related with either, they are for comedy purposes only and if you like those things you either don't mind them talking mad dump about it, or don't watch it :P

Too bad quality baseball games can only be played on the PS4 now. Luckily, I plan on getting one sometime this year.

The black formatting as been in every mlb release I have seen on ps3. They underscan the video and have the adjustment in the system. I think it is just so that the user can adjust for their overscan/underscan on their device so that the "bugs" are not cut off .

Why would anybody come to Giantbomb to learn anything about a sports game? it's widely known that no one at the office cares whatsoever about them and I don't think the guys would care or blame anyone for going to a different site for sports game coverage.

Also UPF is just what exactly the title says it is... unprofessional. They just pick a game and jump right into it and that is what makes the feature absolute gold IMO (especially Vinny's segments)
