I want OkamiDen on a console

ALL I remember about Okami is how many boob shots there were. That and, I thought the game was over and really I had just beaten the first boss.

Loved this on PS2 and Wii, so I picked it up first day it was on PSN - man, that HD looks good!

I just wish they'd let us skip the obnoxiously long cutscene at the beginning...

Well, Okamiden on the DS is pretty much the closest thing you're going to get to a sequel it seems at this rate. Would love a console sequel since Okami is one of my favourite games!

I was actually going to say it is not as long as they claim it is but I looked at a picture I took of the total results screen back in 2007 and it was at 39 hrs 45 mins and 3 sec so it is around the 40 hour mark but I did a bunch of side stuff also so probably could be done in 30 hours or so if you rush through it! It is not really a difficult game since I finished it without dying once!

This looks super dark and dinghy.

What do we have to do get this on PC? Seems like the painting would work perfectly with a mouse, not to mention that this would look incredible maxed out.

Hell yes! I loved Okami when I played it on the WII, I've been interested in seeing how this looks re-released in HD.

Edit: Huh, I never had trouble with doing the brushstrokes on the Wii. I found that doing drawing quickly instead of focusing on precision, especially on the Power Slash move that's just a straight line, worked almost every time.

<3 this game, I already finished everything on the Wii, but this makes me want to replay it all on the Wii U.

By design. There are things you can do that make the town look more lively.

This is one of the few games I regret never finishing. I played just enough to not want to start over again.. Oh well.

I love Okami, but Capcom doesn't get more of my money for this game considering they shut down Clover after it.

My full clear was like 75 hours, and my "regular" one was like 45-ish. Maybe I'm just slow. :(

This game is easy, but some of those side thingies were no joke. The one where you have to fight all 8 canine warriors at once, and those boss rush type devil gates where you fought multiple powered-up copies of bosses like Nagi at the same time come to mind.

Been a long time since I played Okami on PS2, probably going to buy this. And maybe I'll actually finish the game this time!

OkamiDen is borderline unplayable. The worst of the turok fog this generation paired with extremely touchy controls. The only thing that works marginally well is the painting, but that doesn't mean much when you're painting all the time.

Putting that game on the DS was a huge blunder, but there's no one working at Capcom who wants to make a full console Okami game. Okamiden's poor sales due to it being a poor game will probably ensure that we never get a proper Okami game ever again.

Wow, this game still looks absolutely amazing.

One of the best zelda like games next to Darksiders.

I didn't know how good this game looked until they popped up the menu. Compared the Wii version, this looks beautiful.

Patrick, come on. The painting is not that awful or hard in this game. I'm 25 hours in and not once have I had an issue. It's pretty simple and forgiving if you're not sloppy with it.

Yeah, Okami is awesome. I beat the Wii version,and my strategy was to hold the Wii remove higher than where I wanted to paint, since my sensor always placed on the on screen brush far lower than where I was pointing it. One I figured that out, I actually didn't have too much trouble with it.

God Hand is fantastic. The way it handles difficulty is genius.

I've never been so frustrated watching a quick look... aghhh Patrick rejuvenate the trees!!!!!!!

This game looks stunning in HD, I messed about with it for about 45 minutes, I don't think I'll get around to it this year, but I'm pretty excited to play through one of the best not-Nintendo Zelda games ever made again.

@GunstarRed: This early in the game he hasn't gotten the rejuvenate ability yet. I don't think you get it until you've gone into the field.

I agree with Brad the controls on the Wii are terrible and now with this release I would love to beat this game.

Don't let Patrick's complaining about the brush stuff put you off, general motions are all you need to activate the powers, they don't have to be perfect and most of the powers are lines and at most a loop.

Correct! You don't get it until you done the first mini-dungeon in the game (Hana Valley) and it is called bloom not rejuvenation since you have that ability already.

Yep. Patrick's painting of the sun was really broad and sloppy but it's a testament to how well the game recognizes the painting that it actually worked with what he drew.

Absolutely, it makes me feel like the worst player ever whenever I drop to the lowest level.

Never got around to picking this up for PS2, even though I loved the demo. Can't wait to check out the HD version!

I honestly never had a big problem with the celestial brush stuff when I played it on the PS2 but what I played of the Wii version is a different story. Even doing simple brush strokes for the power slashes worked about half the time and honestly thought it would be better than it was.

Looks really interesting, but don't think I could get over the incredibly annoying fake-speech. I'd take the typical type-writer noise over this any day.

@Phatmac: They could have got Platinum to make it but Kamiya said he wouldn't be interested after they made Okamiden without him.

The only issue I've had with the painting was trying to make a tree bloom but I accidentally made it daytime. The painting is so well done and a really innovative mechanic.

I know the guys are busy, but this wasn't a very good Quick Look. At least, it doesn't seem so -- isn't this a Zelda type game? Does it have dungeons? Items that you get?

I'll be buying it for sure, so I guess I'll find out myself.

Hey, everyone. Play God Hand and Okami, they are great games. Viewtiful Joe as well. Also play all the games platinum has done, Bayonetta, and Vanquish are some of the best games this gen.

How about you just play every game that Shinji Mikami and Hideki Kamiya worked on. They're all pretty solid.
