@alucitary: The Alpha has been available and updated since March so it was absolutely a true alpha in the early days. Then in early November it switched to beta which was mainly optimization and bug fixes for a week before final release.

That early amusement park ride music sounded like the music from Ghost Master.

@xrott: For the first 45 minutes of the QL, I was thinking to myself - "This is all stuff that I did in Roller Coaster Tycoon 2." Only towards the end did I see some of the things that make this more interesting, and most of the features I had to guess out of the UI.

I bought into the Alpha of this way back in March. It got me excited kind of like the original LittleBigPlanet did. The amount of customization is crazy. I'd say the simulation is pretty forgiving, though I haven't made a map-spanning park yet so maybe it will get more challenging. Don't be discouraged by the size of the map in the Big Tree scenario- the map is huge in the other modes.

They didn't get into the Building section of the toolbar, where you place walls and work off a grid. That coke can shop was made that way, not through any mod tools. I was hoping they would look at the workshop because people have made some mind boggling buildings already. Not complaining though, great QL and if they ever want to do an addendum and play some more I'd love it.

More's the pity.

They should of gone on the workshop and downloaded some of the shared parks. There are some really well made ones.

It's a common complaint, so much so that I wouldn't be surprised if this gets addressed by a mod or a patch real soon.

So here's a weird thing that has now finally presented itself in quick look form.

@10:01 in the video, look at the shadows on the left side of the screen, they blur out about 1/3 of the way in, seemingly because it's rendering from a distance right? Nope. They zoom in and the left side is STILL blurred.

I've noticed this effect in multiple games, what the hell is it and why does it happen?

I love near the end where Vinny is just freaking out over the ground morphing covering his rollercoaster, as the monorail flies off the unfinished track continuously, sending people to their deaths constantly.

This game looks like the perfect christmas present. Getting some coasters rollin is always fun.
