Is this the closest we'll get to a Pride & Prejudice adventure game?

This look a lot like the Faerie Solitaire I got on steam a year ago. I spent way too many hours on that. It's strangely addicting.

Nothing wrong with liking a solitaire-type game, @alex. Also, this game looks pretty all right.

This is almost identical (in gameplay) to their previous game Fairway Solitaire, if you want this without the Downton Abbey thing.

I'm surprised niether of them brought up Fairway Solitaire. That game single handedly made this type of solitaire game more popularized.

It is apparently by an entirely different developer somehow, but this game reminds me a whole lot of Faerie Solitaire, which I received as a joke gift and ended up playing a disturbing amount of.

Solitaire on its own is not a bad card game and there are a lot of nice little touches added here between the powers to help balance out bad luck, the varied card layouts, and the stage gimmicks. I would never even consider buying this game for what they are asking, but it's far from the worst way to spend your money if it falls to around $1 during a sale.

Hi, developer here! Thanks so much for covering the game. I made this game with my wife as both live in Dorset, UK and are history enthusiasts.

You may also be interested to know that I programmed the original Fairway Solitaire for PC/Mac back in 2007 for Big Fish Games along with a designer called John Cutter and an artist called Matt Laverty. The game became a hit casual game and has inspired many variants since then.

Our new solitaire engine features new mechanics and powerups, an expanded metagame, and of course the epic story!

I hope you enjoy the game. Current the Mac version is only available from our GreyAlienGames site; the PC version is on our site and Steam.

@alex Hey, you should check out Fairway Solitaire and Pyramid Solitaire Saga on your phone for the same mechanics then you can be addicted on the go too! They are pretty polished free to play games.

Looks like the art in this game is 4:3. Crazy in 2015 I know, but you guys stretching it out to widescreen is kinda rough on the eyes and isn't doing the game any favors.

That last hand made me sweat, lol! It was super-tense.

Btw, you can destretch the screen in the options screen. Also you can undo wasted wildcards.

Those bow cards have to be played TWICE to remove them. They can be useful for building big combos on some levels.

There's also a cool Phoenix powerup to purchase later on.

It's good to branch out! I spent a (probably embarrassing) number of hours on Faerie Solitaire, myself. There's something really soothing about just clearing away piles of cards.

I will challenge you to a duel, you dirty scalawag!

Jane Austen is amazing! She has inspired a lot of awful imitators (looking at you Downton Abbey and Regency Solitaire!), but she herself was a genius, probably the greatest prose stylist in the English language since Shakespeare. Only her own books do her justice, no adaptation of her has ever come close to the originals.

I haven't seen Faerie Solitaire but this type of Solitaire isn't something new or unique. The spin this game has is the board layouts and the different powers you have access to. If FS is only a couple of years old, I seriously doubt they were the ones who came up with it.
