Since you were talking about "rules of solitaire" and whatnot, I thought I'd mention that solitaire is a type of card game you play by yourself, not a specific game with specific rules. The Windows game Solitaire plays a solitaire game called Klondike.

After lurking on Giant Bomb for years, this video finally made me come out and say:

Great job, Vinny and Alex! I should return the rest of this seat because I only needed the edge.

I feel like, for a heavily puzzly game like this, having a randomly shuffled deck is pretty fucked.

You sold me, Alex. I think my mom will like this game! I went ahead and bought it. It's "on sale" for $3 at the moment

Vinny at the end there with the multiple voices was pretty fantastic. Quite possibly one of my favorite Giant Bomb moments.

Given that I ended up really getting into Faerie Solitaire, maybe I should check this out.

Also, I can confirm that they do indeed need to play Snakebird. That game is fantastic.

@gkhan: I'd rather read all the garbage Dan Brown wrote than one of Jane Austen's books.

I've never read a Dan Brown book, but I will say Emma is pretty good. It's not Jane Austin's most popular book, but I think it's her best and would recommend that you watch the Gwyneth Paltrow movie. It's less than 2 hours so it's much less of a commitment than reading the book, if you ever feel like giving her a second chance. Fair warning: It is quite silly.

As with most pro-level Solitaire play, the end of this video could have used some Air Horn.

Fairway Solitaire is really well done. It has fun little cartoons and a pretty funny running commentary over the gameplay as if you were playing a televised game of golf. It is the first ios game that I enjoyed so much I wanted to give them some money. I spent good amount of money on clubs (that can be used as cards when needed) and powerups (not more than an average console game). I spent many more hours playing that then some of those console games. That said, I'm probably sold on this when it becomes available for ios.

Why the heck is this not on iOS :( I wanted this pretty bad after watching but not for PC.

Edit: I see the dev posting in here. Hope you two can export a good mobile version soon. Seems so well suited for it!

Faerie Solitaire was awesome in a weird way. I'm tempted to get this and do some more solitairing. Although I should probably just replay and finish Faerie Solitaire rather than spending money on another solitaire game.

As others have said, a similar style of Solitaire was used in Faerie Solitaire and that game was great fun. The Solitaire suite on the Windows store also features a similar style, and that is an ad supported free game if you're looking to play something like this but don't have the $$$.

Jesus Christ is Alex the kind of player who can get on the Regency Solitaire pro tour now? He would have gotten eaten alive in the Boston international Classic tournament where guys like Bill "The Shuffler" Williams were still playing. This is the last straw, I'm quitting the Regency Soltaire pro game forever.

We discussed Austen for about a month and a half in school, it was the most boring, meaningless shit I ever had to hear, see and learn so I don't think I will give her a second chance.

I would also recommend 'Fairway Solitaire', which is very similar to this and in my opinion has a better art-style.

@larrydavis: "Heavily Puzzly" ? There is NO puzzle in this at all. You click the number above or below the one you have. That is it. It is as "heavily puzzly" as doing addition and subtraction. Or deciding what pair of socks to buy.
