Mercenaries mode started in RE3...not RE4.

Thanks for cranking this out. Now I can be all like F U at the gamestop if I end up not liking what I see. Not like I could easily trade the thing in- I bet gamestop blacklists it like they did PC MMOs back in the day.

Hey guys, where the hell is Sheva?

Sound is kinda bad on this, textures are blurry, levels looks smaller. I know it's only a handheld game, but it still looks like ass.

agh. i'm itching for a new RE to play even if this is more of the same.. although that doesn't seem like a bad thing. i'll have to hold off of it. EDF comes first! 

That this quick look is 15 minutes long seems telling.

edit: Just what I thought, absolutely nothing that justifies this as a whole game!

There's basically no excuse for that considering this is supposedly the first 4GB 3DS cart too. The rest so far have been 2GB.

I don't care for this at all. Already had my fill in RE5. Still, fun quicklook!

Yes, that is true. But Mercs in RE3 was so different from what it evolved into in RE4.

I can't say I'm excited about this game. It looks rather boring...

All the sound effects in the menus are the exact same from Perfect Dark.

You can really see they've had to make a lot of concessions to get this game running on the 3DS, a lot of the animations seem to be lacking frames (either that or it's a poor framerate, I can't tell) and the sound samples sound pretty terrible. There also don't seem to be many enemies on screen at once.

This doesn't bode too well for RE Revelations, the game would still work with only a few enemies at a time but the other issues could be a bit damning.

@The_Nubster: They can only do quicklooks with the slider all the way into 2D.

This and the other RE game are really what I would get a 3DS for. Zelda and Luigi's Mansion 2 too.

Mercenaries in 5 was pretty cool. Barry's melee ground move was called "Miranda Rights;" he would would hold the zombie down with his foot on their neck and shoot them in the face with his dirty harry pistol...

This must be really popular on trains in Japan or something, because I don't see much of the appeal here.

I sure hope they improve the UI for the final release. Freaking terrible. 
 
Edit: after watching the whole thing, I'm not too sure any of it looks good. Voice sample quality was definitely poor. RE4 gameplay wasn't good enough for me to make it through the first one, let alone the multiple modes and games to follow. Reminds me a lot of the Metroid Prime Hunters demo that was released at the DS launch. 

So would you rather pay .99 cents for Angry Birds or 40 bucks for Mercenaries?

Jeezz. 50 euros for a demo of revelations..

I love mercenaries, i don't want this game.

No inventory reloading, first person aiming on a small screen is a straight up bad idea and purely a gimmick to show off the 3D.

Put the maps and new characters into dlc for re5 and i'm sold.

I probably clocked over 100 hours in RE4 merceneries... but this doesn't look good, the 3DS's limitations really makes a difference.

I kinda want play this, but there's no way I can justify paying £30 for it. With the news you can't wipe saves, there's also no way I'm picking it up used. Also, the lack of Leon disturbs me greatly, as does the lack of Sheva. I mean, why put Krauser in and not Leon ?

I'll keep waiting for that other Resident Evil game. Mercs mode just isn't my thing, mainly because I suck horribly at it.

Who the fuck would pay 40 bucks for this? There's practically no content in this game.

I think im going to not pick this pre-order up. It looks like they had some assets lying around and were like 'hey- this could be a game'.

The audio really doesn't sound good at all.

Clunky ass controls.  This looks like a $10 DLC pack, not a full game.

It's even less of an excuse if they really included a demo of Revelations.

I kind of hope this doesn't sell well. Partly for Capcom making a cash in, and also the whole locked save thing.

I think this is perfect for handhelds
