I'll grab this because I love me some goddamn rockband (and john drake) but the 25 Blitz songs are kind of bad.

hmmmmmmmmm, okay, color me interested.

Like the look of this, and the fact that all your songs are included in both Blitz and Rock Band 3 is pretty great. Have to get this next week.

This will be my first Rock Band/Guitar Hero. I can't wait.

Looking forward to the demo for this, I played a lot of Frequency back in the day.

WHY?

From this Quicklook, pretty much all I learned was that I can't listen to the commentary and watch the game at the same time. It looks really fun, and I definitely getting it this week, but I hardly remember a word you guys said, just because of how much is going on.

Edit: Also, I do hate Pumped Up Kicks.

Show off rhythm game, explain all the systems for 7+ minutes before actually showing what the game plays like. Skipped ahead because wtf.

Is this any good if I don't already own Rock Band and therefore have no songs to import?

I have 600+ songs for Rock Band. I am all for any game or software that helps me take advantage of that. I'm ready for Rock Band Blitz. Seems cool.

There also seems to be a lot of systems in place to get people to buy more songs.

Perhaps now that Blitz no longer relies on the instruments being used in the songs we can get some decent 90's 3rd Wave Ska up in this piece. How the fuck am I still unable to play a SINGLE Reel Big Fish song in a RB game?

What is even worse is that Power Gig had released Reel Big Fish's "Beer" and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones' "The Impression that I get" as DLC, but then didn't put out the patch to make the songs playable in-game.

Ya but then a whole bunch of people complain that they don't know what they're doing and shortchanging the game. Either way they do it someone prefers it the other way. I think they just need to be smart about which games deserve which treatment. More mechanically dense/complex games should probably be played in advance but I agree that something like this they could just jump into.

I literally started the video, went and made my lunch, and came back 7 minutes later and he hadn't started playing yet.

I dunno guys, as someone who played the hell outta Freq and Amp using square-triangle-circle, Typewriter looks the most comfortable. That's actually what I was miming when I was watching the first round of gameplay before they showed the controls screen.
