Quick Look: Scarygirl

I'm more shocked they didn't figure out you can throw each other.

This seems to be one of those games that's trying to get by on very little more than its art.

Yeah, it definitely reminded me of Pandemonium.

That music in the first level they played was hypnotic.

This game seems kinda shitty.

Gameplay seams a bit clunky and the design is a too much colorful to be compare to Nightmare before Christmas!

The framerate was bad, the controls sounded overcomplex, I personally am sick to goddamn death of Burton and Burton-esque design, no sale.

It's super clunky. Don't think I'd tough it out.

I wish I didn't see immediately when Vinny first accidently blocked that he could also be grabbed by Brad, cause from then on I was waiting for Brad to grab Vinny and neither of them noticed :S

Maybe, but then you'd just end up with a 2D game where the focus is still on visuals but not really on interesting gameplay. Kind of like Shank.

I know! Later on, Brad even acknowledges that the purple halo around objects indicates you can grab them. Somehow neither of them noticed when the purple halo appeared around their characters.

Looks much improved over the shitty, cheap platformer based on the same license (from the same developer) that popped up as a PS Mini earlier. And probably a free web game or cheap smartphone game or something.

I'm calling it: best looking goat of 2012.

While i do like the idea of a Maharishi-style Guru bunny rabbit, who seems to use Transcendental Meditiation as his double jump. I cant say this game looks particularly enjoyable.

I found myself being very annoyed with how the controls look, and I was just watching them play too.

That bubble shield seems pretty similar to the one in Super Smash Bros.

This art and character design is the most derivative I have ever seen. It is rewarming of a dozen other artist's work with a character that has been done ten times already. This belongs in the garbage.

Tim Burton's art style is just about the most terrifying thing in existence.

I dig the game (even though I fully recognize the controls and ESPECIALLY the jumping is really stiff and awkward). I do like that art style (again, recognizing that it's a pretty worn-out style).

But it DOES look like I'm one of the rare ones - the leaderboard only has 500 people on it. Which is pretty brutal.

i like how the rabbit floats. no silly animation which makes it seem more effective for platforming.

Brad stated he had played for an hour and a half before the video. How much longer does he have to play before it is enough for you? Quick Looks are not reviews, they are exactly what they are called. Also, something is really wrong with the pacing if they are still introducing basic mechanics like blocking an hour and a half into the game. Or Brad was just spending a lot of time collecting stuff.

I love these guys but that was bad. Even though they don't play games professional they've played them long enough to know video game 101: look for patterns. Even the cutscene before the boss fight pretty much showed how to beat the boss and they still couldn't figure it. And wasn't it Vinny who said Zelda had "too much" hand holding?

It appears to be an unfinished indie game where "style" was favored over everything else....

This look disgustingly generic. I hope this doesn't become a trend of shitty 2-D platformers, because I really do enjoy the recent 2-D downloadable games that have come out, and I would like them to remain poop free. Also I remember this being a free mini with Playstation Plus a few months ago. It was shitty then too, but at least the controls were better.

It may be that I'm too much of sucker for style over substance but I look forward to this.

It's a shame that the camera in co-op favors player 1 so heavily. I was kinda instantly sold when the quick look started and then unsold once Vinny joined-in and the camera became his worst enemy.

A bit of a dilemma to figure out who on the couch should steer. :(

Hmm, reminds me of Costume Quest, graphicswise.

The rabbit seems a way cooler character.
