Seems fine; I agree Dan's playing leaves somewhat to be desired. That said there doesn't seem to be anything stand out about it.

Bad quicklook since this clearly isnt the type of game Dan would even be into. I could easily see a positve QL on this game coming from someone else.

I didn't see crab butt until they found it either. "Big armored thing that covers its face with oversize arms except for a moment when it attacks" = "Throw something at it when the arms are open", not "look at butt for the .5 second weak spot"

It feels like very weak design, in comparison to good metroidvania that has much more emphasis on technique. Nothing in this QL looked like it required any technique beyond patience and trail+error.
