The only good thing I can say without having touched this game is at least this game is a video game, it has some great music and its better than BUBZ, at least from what I can tell.

Finally we got to meet Dan's fursona.

After Mania, this is somehow what I'm looking for in this game.

I love how they have somehow doubled, tripled down on the edgy-ness aspect of post-Dreamcast era Sonic with this game, as well as giving the audience a self-insert character to play alongside him.

It's all so cringey, but in a way that's so over the top that I can't help wanting to see it. I might have to actually play this at some point.

I think I laughed more at this QL than any in a while. Also, StrangeEric and HOTWHEELSMASTER69 may be a lock in GOTY for best character now tho....lol...jesus this game looks terrible. I'm surprised they didn't put this one on ice for a bit considering they gained some good will from mania.

GB really missed the chance to showcase the best song in this game's soundtrack: Fatboy Slim's "Wispon of Choice".

I almost feel bad for super enjoying this game considering how much everyone seems to hate it. It feels like I'm missing something... oh well

YES Vinny, kids just might like this. I got some laughs out of the QL commentary (Strange Eric is my new 'provider') but at the end of the day this is some adult rear ends crowding out who the game may be aimed for.

The Sonic game made by the actual Sonic Team is the one that is bad? Color me shocked.

I wouldn't pay $40 for this, but it doesn't look that bad from what I've seen of it. The better Sonic games have always differed from Mario games by focusing on short yet very dense levels filled with branching paths designed to add replay value while the worst games have all tried (and failed) to mimic Mario with longer, more guided or cinematic levels which end up feeling like a slog.

Judging by the Quick Look, this one falls into the former category as I saw plenty of alternate branches in most of the levels and there seemed to be a ton of platforming variety. Dan did complain about the controls a fair amount so maybe the issues are things that don't come across as well while watching, but the gameplay looked kinda decent to me for the most part.

According to word on the eStreets, this game is good, not great, but decent enough. With that said, Sega should just hire the people making the excellent fan based Sonic games and let them take over. But then again, tall, green eyed, surfer dude, Sonic seems to sell a lot of merchandise.

The thing about this game isn't that it's bad, it's just super bland and uninspired.

The last few "Sonic Team" Sonic games have been really good (barring the slightly underwhelming Sonic Lost World). Sonic Unleashed may have had the infamous Werehog, but it's actual Sonic stages course-corrected the series from the dark Adventure-era days into this new Boost style of gameplay. Then, with Sonic Colours and Sonic Generations, Sonic Team iterated on this style of play into something really fresh and unique for Sonic. Add onto that the fact that they cut away all of Sonic's numerous friends and toned down the taken-way-too-seriously story elements, completely reinventing Sonic as a fun, Saturday morning cartoon.

It's hard to believe it took them four years to make this game (Sonic Lost World came out in 2013). The level design in Forces is so plain and boring. It feels by the numbers. Every level can be completed in about two minutes, and they all end abruptly, with no logical crescendo. Nearly half of the locations you visit in the game are recycled from previous Sonic games. The story is rushed and fan-fiction heaven.

It almost feels like they were working on something else for most of those four years, couldn't really pull it together, so cobbled together Forces as quick as possible. It's a real shame, they've been on the right track for so long now.

Eh, still looks fun to me. Not an immediate buy for me like Mania was, but maybe sometime after holidays and after playing everything else on my list.The "turn off your brain for a sec and boost through everything"-style of play is appealing to me; and since Sonic Unleashed, the 3D Sonic games have gotten better at that. I get why it isn't appealing to some, but it's funny how people will always come out of the woodwork to say "Sonic is and never was good."

on that note, the dialogue seems just as cringey as ever, but who comes to a Sonic story expecting anything other than cheese?

I got an email from nuuvem a digital store advertising this game "Time to outrun the Odyssey!". I guess if you wanna compare this game to Mario, they are both video games, sure. Sonic couldn't outrun a lost puppy after seeing how sluggish this looks.

If 3d sonic is now just a series of cutscenes with a few button inputs (Kotaku also complained those sections were too on rails)... honestly I can get on board at a sale price.

This looks fine to me but I liked (most of) Sonic Generations, so I guess that makes sense.
