I dunno. Not sucking while being a cache of fan service and true-to-form comedy is great, but is it enough to turn "short & easy" into 5 stars? A perfect score?

Want this so bad, but I still haven't convinced myself to drop the $60.

Man, I could be watching TV right now.

I don't find South Park offensive, but I'm definitely bored of the humor. Hasn't made me laugh in a while. I'll probably be giving this one a pass.

5 Stars has never ever meant perfect on GiantBomb's scale, just as it doesn't mean perfect for most review sites. Arguing 10/10 for "basically perfect" makes sense, but on a 5-point-scale you're basically just saying "This is among the best 20% of games out there".

Not sure why Alex is reviewing it since Brad said he has played through most of it. I feel like the guys don't review too much now and just put it all on Alex. Curious as to why they do that now

@plaintomato: I think you should rate the game on it's own merit. For a fan service game it's 5* for Alex. It's hard to judge all games on an one size fits all overarching scale.

5/5 at Giantbomb has never meant perfect. IDK why people keep thinking it does

It just means Alex really enjoyed the game and the fan service was spot on for him to look past all the technical issues.

It's like giving a 5/5 to Skyrim (i think it was brad who did that one?) it's far from "perfect" because of the mass amounts of technical issues, but the rest of the game is so damn expansive and amazing, that the reviewer was able to look past it all

The funniest game of all time.

I fucking love South Park, so I'm really happy this turned out okay. I think a lot of people haven't seen where the humor of South Park has gone and think it's still fart jokes and killing Kenny.

Okay, this seems pretty good.

Yup this game is gonna make me laugh a ton.

I knew Obsidian would do right with this one. After reading Alex's review, I am absolutely picking this up very soon.

EDIT: Didn't even make it half way through the quick look before this happened:

Does anyone one know if the PC boxed copy comes with a Steam code? I know it doesn't require UPlay. Thanks.

Damn this looks awesome. I'm so glad a lot of the jokes and gags are actually funny or at least charming. It's so cool how they nailed the art of the show too, really looks like they're playing an episode of the show. I'll probably wait for a steam sale though because I'm cheap.. or in the spirit of this game, I'm a jew.

I love me some South Park, and I'll definitely be picking this up at some point, but I'm going to wait until the price drops a bit. This quick look has made me look forward to it.

Never been a fan of South Park, but this looks pretty awesome.

Looks like a great game but holy cow this was the most confusing and jumpy QL in Giantbomb history. Probably should have been a bit more planned out.

Can anyone confirm if there are Major Boobage references in this game?

I can't wait for this game. But this is the first Quick Look I'm going to pass on, so I don't spoil all the jokes in it. Its very tough to resist though.

Man this looks great, but the cheapskate in me can't bring myself to spend $60 on a ten hour game.

Brad is enjoying this game a bit too much. :D

Wiped sweat off my brow, I Pre ordered the Grand Wizard Edition.. LOL

Now if i can just get out of work early to go play it...

YES

None of the humor is hitting for me, but I'd be down for a solid RPG. I'll pick it up when the price drops.

Oh man, I think that Mr Hankey summon just sold me on this game.

I'm not huge on south park (I don't dislike it and I'm not offended by it, I just find the humour EXTREMELY hit or miss, leaning in the miss direction), but holy shit, good on Obsidian for making a game that seems ABOUT as South Park as a game could be. It looks right, sounds right, flows right, and seems paced right. Good on you Obsidian. Still doubt I'll pick it up any time soon, but I do commend the developers

I just don't get why anyone finds any of this funny.

If I were to guess, I think Alex was reviewing it all along and Brad was just going to play some for the quick look, like they been doing for most games. It just seems like Brad actually enjoy the game so much that he keep playing over the weekend.

I hate South Park with a relatively strong passion, but I must admit the game looks aesthetically perfect. I know this game isn't for me but I'm glad it's a good game for those who will enjoy it.

Oh no! I got spatter on the Chief!

Man, I'd love to play this, but, yo, Dark Souls 2

@davec524:

To the Youth

I really don't think this is a site meant for children in the first place.

My uncle Abraham and I are outraged at this anti-semetic filth they call a game. A "Jew" class? How hasn't the ADL sued these people yet? Also, I'm shocked the people at GB think it's a good idea to show off this hate-filled entertainment to the youth.

Assuming this post isn't a joke, on what grounds precisely would the Anti-Defamation League sue the creators of this game?

Life long fan of the show! However, I despise these turn based RPG style games. Clearly that is a "me" problem." I'm just happy that the game looks incredibly well done! South Park deserves a really good video game.

I will definitely have to pick this up at some point!

Holy crap this looks great. I'm not a fan of the show at all. This just looks like a really well made game and I definitely will be picking it up.

It's okay to say Jew, Brad. It's not a racial slur. :D

This game is CRAZY framey. Lots of times when you enter an area for the first time the game will slow to a crawl for a second or two (PS3 version, anyway). Sucks a lot, because this game looks amazing otherwise

I sure wish I thought poop, farting, The Hoff, anal probes and things of that nature were funny and I did when South Park was brand new (yes I am old) but alas I do not. Still I will pick it up real cheap or on PSPlus one day maybe. But good that Obsidian have made a good game. I'll say good again. Good.

Its so much fun so far!

Who do you think runs Comedy Central?

Oddly, this has made me want to rewatch all the giant bomb unplugged episodes. can i haz more GB unplugged?

Had doubts after the previous game but this (as similar to Vinny/Brad in the quick look of being not a huge fan of South Park & missed the last few seasons) looks pretty damn good. Can't wait to try it as it looks like a fun game mixed with the South Park mythology/setting.

Yes, this. I haven't really heard any mention of how poorly the PS3 version runs and its quite disappointing.

A South Park vidjee game that's GOOD?

It's still an Obsidian game so I expect lots of game breaking bugs and crashes.

And you're unfortunately right. I just got hit by a nasty game breaking bug that has completely halted my story progression (O Canada - Earl of Winnipeg. Talk to him before the NPCs, just in case the NPCs were the cause of this bug!). I worry that I may have to start this game from the beginning. As much as I love this game, that bug (which I can not reload from as I didn't know it was a bug at the time) has pretty much killed all the joy I had. All the laughs and fun times, gone. One fell swoop. I blame Canada.

@pezen: You haven't watched much of the show. The toilet focused humor is rarely the draw, at least not for a long time. The political/social/ satire and wit of the show have lived on throughout all ~350 episodes. You either stopped watching after the first season or two and/or everything else that's brilliant about the show apparently flew right over your head. Go back to your mind-numbing DOTA, please.

@disemboweler: To quote a brilliant man;

I was going to a post a long snarky reply, but I realized when I sat down at my keyboard that it would be a huge waste of my time, because I am not really looking for your approval of my dislike of South Park. Glad you enjoy a show I don't! I guess? Whatever.
