Quick Look: Splatoon 2

I love some splatoon :)

30 Seconds in and the Motion Controlled camera is ruining my day. Nice to see the touch-screen art is still happening.

Wow, this is a busy Friday. All kinds of content being curated for the discerning viewer.

I've never played Splatoon, but it's such a satisfying game to watch.

Lemme see what yall hyping up...

I got Splatoon this morning and I've already decided it's silly I can't play Salmon Run whenever I want, it's active today and it's so much more fun than the Turf War thing - I know you can play local coop whenever you want but I'm an adult, I don't know a single other person with a Switch, let alone one that has time to come round to my house and play! It's otherwise a great game so far.

Got my Switch yesterday and have been working my way through the campaign this afternoon - it's a ton of fun and I'm really happy with the improvements they made from the first game's single-player (which was pretty much a tutorial aside from the boss fights, but was single-handedly made worthwhile by that final encounter).

Haven't jumped online yet but it feels really good to play, it's been a long time since I last touched Splatoon but I was able to jump right back in as though it was a week ago.

Yeah, this doesn't do anything for me.

it's a silly thing, but I'm happy for Vinny, that now he doesn't need to "perform" in every video. rest is good

That sure is some more Splatoon! I'll pick it up later, though. I've spent a bit too much money this month, and there's still a retro game convention to hit next week.

I told myself I wouldn't get this, because I don't want to pay for Nintendo's online thing when it releases. But this is irresistible and seems awesome. I just ordered it, dammit Nintendo!

I had planned on waiting to get a Switch until Mario, but this game is making me reconsider. Not that I would actually be able to find one anytime soon, though.

This game has me SO tempted to get a Switch, along with the promise of higher fidelity Fire Emblem and Pokemon.

Shame about those connection issues even while playing locally. You guys really should have showcased Splat Net and the Switch Online app.

This is an enjoyable Quick Look. They're clearly having having fun and its funny to hear them getting competitive with each other.

The games enjoyable as well, but I do miss the mini game when waiting for the lobby to fill up.

WELP! She was great while she lasted but it's time to take the ol' girl out behind the barn and put er' down. Once you catch the sickness there's no comin' back.

Anyone have any idea why Dan couldn't stay connected during local offline play?

Nothing I love better than being steamrolled by a bunch of people with nothing better to do than play this game for 8 or 10 hours straight a day!

I just played a couple of matches. This game is so fun, it's my favorite game on the Switch so far.

Never played it but my switch has been collecting dust for months and I love the presentation here. Maybe a fun game to play and actually get some value out of my switch and pro controller which saw like 20 hours of Zelda before burning out. I don't have a large SD card for my switch and all of have is Zelda physical so guess I won't get this digital since I don't play enough to worry about swapping games, I play everything on my pc anyways. This lpols like it would be fun and no voice chat is awesome I hate being called names online I have tons of social problems so stepping out of my comfort zone to be mistreated by people online has caused a lot of anxiety I try to avoid. Anywhere to get a physical copy for cheap or is it 60 across the board in the US? Thanks gb east for a positive fun quick look which changed a bitter old man's opinion

@stise: Being a bit facetious. For me it sucks being one of those with no natural knack for anything whatsoever. Those who are really good honestly do spend quite some time playing in addition to whatever God given ability they have, it's true. Nothing against them, it's just frustrating.

Splatting feels so good.

The connection trouble worries me when it comes to the WiFI chip in the Switch. There are boneheaded Nintendo decisions all over this game, but it doesn't put too much of a damper on my enjoyment of the game. The 3 minute battles just get my heart racing like nothing else.

only realized quite recently that Callie and Marie together is basically Calamari and now i'm questioning everything.

Could do with more colorful action games like this. Shame Sunset Overdrive will likely never have a sequel or even a pc-port.

Seems like a proficient sequel and what fans of Splatoon would like. Drew is popping up everywhere. I guess that's what happens when you're an international meme.

Guess I just suck naturally then like most other players are good naturally, is that better put? I'll add it to the list of things I'm bad at I suppose.

I would still hazard to guess most people good at a game typically have put in a stupid amount of time of it. Not too unreasonable to assume, right? But again, me being wrong.

At least salmon run is fun and I can't easily get yelled at in that.

I have still never seen a Switch on a shelf, for sale, in a store.
