The protoss advisor has always been Paul Eiding (Col. Campbell) in both SC games and he's Aldaris in the campaign. He's also Mephisto in Diablo 2!

Starcraft was so formative for me, still so much love for this game, and the remaster is really well made. I was worried I'd play it for some nostalgic yucks and be done, but now I'm itching to ladder...

Speaking of which, does Brad know the Remaster has automated ranked matchmaking? That "Ranked" button is the SC2 "play" button he was talking about. Admittedly it's only 1v1 and you gotta hit that UMS and BGH through the game browser, but coulda poked around the UI a bit more?

Someone definitely should. I'd love to play a good Fallout game again.

Oh Halcyon days...

I would love this for Warcraft 3, particularly with the modding tools enabled. Warcraft 3 custom games are still among the most wide ranging and fun experiences I've had with multiplayer of any kind.

UMS games were the only thing I played Starcraft for. Loved me some turret defense, maze defense, volcano run, cat & mouse, and 7v1 zerg.

Looks like a mobile game in high res, the original sprites just sit better with me.

This makes me pine for the rematch of the millennium, Brad vs. Norm in Starcraft 2.

Awww man.... this is really making me want to buy this and play some old DBZ ums maps...

I'm not a huge Starcraft guy myself but did play it and yeah the sound effects and stuff are very nostalgic here in a way I wouldn't realize I would remember them.

I forgot how ridiculous some of the cutscenes were holy shit. This era of cutscenes is particularly ugly and like Brad says it is hilarious that this was jaw dropping. It truly was.

@little_shadow: I'd love that. By the time I found out about Diablo 2 its graphics were just too grungy for me to deal with.

Oh, God, that music is deep in my soul, in a happy little bubble. I'm gonna have to play this campaign again real, real soon, and maybe finally finish the SC2 expansions.

I was always more of a Warcraft III guy than a Starcraft one, but this still looks really nice. Now, if they were to give Diablo 1 and 2 a similar treatment...

I liked that they closed out the video with the line "We've seen enough" in that cutscene

I'm with Ben on being a fan of StarCraft without being good at it.

And yeah, I still remember cheat codes for both this game and the Star Wars Dark Forces game.

Nostalgia is good and all. But who is ready and willing to practice a game for 4 hours a day just to maintain form.

Also Starcraft ultimately failed at 2v2 (always early rushes) and thus failed as a team sport, and became this amazing, grueling 1v1 spectacle. MOBAs surpassed it in popularity not just due to the friendlier learning curve but because they were team games.

The fact that you still have to mod in the co-op campaign is a glaring omission and missed opportunity. Perfect example of modern Blizzard, being lame and dense and catering fan-service to the stupid.

Those sprites fight and die real good. I love sprites in RTS games. This, AoE2, and Stronghold, have some good sprite fights.

I totally didn't remember her looking that bad. Holy crap.

Man, I love the old Starcraft. Exactly what Brad said is what turns me away from Starcraft II, it all seems way to over the top and crazy, while the original Starcraft had some classic feel similar to Starship Troopers to it.
