Don't like the design, but if it means it faster then I'll take the crappy new look. That and getting BBC iPlayer on there is a bonus to. Still hate those fecking adverts.

So rumor has it that we will finally get Kinect voice control in Europe... about time is a pretty big understatement here if that's the case.

We don't have party chat? The only thing we're missing is cross-game chat and that's not even considered missing out.

And, BIG SUPRISE, there are still lots of single player games nowadays that don't require any form of (voice) chat. So unless you're a hardcore game that grew up with Halo, having slightly superior voice/communication option isn't worth shellling out $60 a year for, you could buy a damn game for that price and then some. But whatever, that next $10 price hike will take YOU for a hike.

I've always prefered the ps3's xmb but I gotta say this looks pretty slick. Too bad we don't have any of the streaming apps in Sweden.

@ilduce620: Yes it is. Star Trek 1 through 6 are all on Netflix streaming.

@Jonnyflash80: Not in St. Louis, MO, USA. Just checked. The only movie is the latest one from 2009. All the Series are up, including the Animated Series, but it doesn't look like any of the others are on Netflix Streaming. That said, I own all of them on DVD or Bluray anyway, so I don't usually keep track of the movies. But yeah, are you in a different country? Perhaps other licensing there?

You're kidding, right? The new dashboard only makes use of about 50% to 66% of the screen and of that used space, about 75% of it is used for various advertising and 25% of it is used for content. The interface is all boxy, now, so it's really easy to do the math. One tile to play the game you've inserted and everything else for ads.

If I don't want Hulu, stop shoving it in my face on the interface every time I use the console. If I don't want ads, don't show them to me. It's 2011 - the only place that I don't have any control over the advertising and my exposure to it is on the console. On every other device, I'm able to implement limitations. Like I say, if you want to shove constant advertising in someone's face, give them the membership to Xbox Live for free. For paying customers - get rid of that shit. or at least make it an option that I can toggle. Let me get rid of all the god damn advertising and replace it with actual things I give a fuck about. Then, instead of having fifteen little tabs/screens each filled with one or two useful features and six or eight ads, I can have one screen with everything I need on it. I mean, sorry, but I don't exist just to consume advertising.

I get that there's gonna be ads and they don't really bother me, but I do agree with you that it would be great if that home screen was more customizable and I could put some of the apps I use the most there.

II and VI were much better, but IV was a good light hearted movie.

The new dashboard is pretty good, it's fast and easier to get to everything now.. but I don't care about any of the apps or extra features at all (not to mention most of them aren't available outside of the US). A customisation to deactivate the tabs you don't care about would be perfect.

I don't think the ads are as bad as some people say, they do tend to point you towards new game content and things you might not know about, but with the new design I think they're a lot more intrusive now, I don't see why they need the massive square in the middle of the home tab.

Apparently, the whole thing is delayed until tomorrow. That makes me sad; I always enjoy playing around with the updates.

ECW on SyFy was so awesome in a dumb way on many occasions.

I don't even mind any more about there being ads despite the fact that I'm paying for Xbox Gold, what I mind is that the largest icon on the home screen is an advertisement.

Any other page I wouldn't mind, but on the home screen itself? I've already bought your console, I'm already paying your subscription fee, it's probably safe to say that I'm going to continue giving you my money, Microsoft. Do you have to put that right there, front and centre?

I barely even notice ads. People just like to complain and exaggerate. I'm digging the new interface, especially since I have a Kinect.

People pay for xbox live, yet ads are mandatory. That is bullshit.

Seriously, I think the whole white/green thing is fucking awful. Thank god the new dash seems to have less white boxes than the last one had, but still.. the overlay "mini-blade interface" is still white as fuck. Hurts my eyes and is not great to look at on a big, bright TV. I wish they would go back to the original NXE (the one after the old blade interface). That one looked okay and didn´t make me want to poke my eyes out.

I... am ambivalent.

So cloud saving question if anyone knows: If I want to clear my cloud save space, can I delete the file or do I copy it to the game folder in the HDD? In other words, does it sync with a 'regular' HDD folder?
