Also!!! Giant Bomb needs to keep in mind that the whole quick look idea is not that original. People have been doing this on You Tube long before this web site ever existed. Those are also FREE TO WATCH, no subscription needed.

You paid your sub to watch Quick Looks?

As the French say, you, sir, are a dumb le fucke.

Spoken like a true free loader.

Ah, just the kind of "I-totally-missed-the-point" answer I'd expect from someone who paid a sub to watch free Quick Looks.

Here's the point of my post, YOU said: "People have been doing this on You Tube long before this web site ever existed. Those are also FREE TO WATCH, no subscription needed."

And I merely pointed out, genius, that YOU DON'T NEED A SUB TO WATCH QUICK LOOKS.

I know this is all very confusing and possibly frightening to you, but do try to understand.

I don't just watch quick looks. I also watch subscription only videos as well. When did I ever say anything about only watching quick looks? Giant Bomb doesn't need you to defend them. When I said also, I meant it like "in addition to". Yes, the quick looks on this site are free, just like similar ones on You Tube. Neither of them require a subscription. I want GB to get the hits on their website which could potentially turn into more subscriptions. I don't want them to have to count on advertising alone. Given a choice between to like videos, even when they are free, I'm still going to choose the better one. A quick look that has a huge chunk of menu and/or server navigation, which they have done in past quick looks, doesn't make it entertaining or informative. It is just plain boring.

Stop your a-bloo-bloo-blooing. Who wants to watch some jerk on Youtube. The entire point of subscribing to Giant Bomb Dot Com is that you want to support these dudes because they're entertaining and often do ridiculous things, especially on the podcast.

Look. The whole point I was trying to make was that they shouldn't get lazy and assume people will continue to support them. It just seems that they are leaning more toward the "ridiculous things" aspect of the website, and are not as focused on covering games properly. Besides, doing ridiculous things is also covered by 95% of the websites on the internet.

Simple solution: stop visiting this website. We'd all be grateful for it.

It's like 15 minutes before they started playing Twisted Metal in this Quick Look!!

I mean hey, I like Quick Looks, but 48 minutes is one BIG FAT VIDEO! I get that the controls are difficult, but you don't have to show the whole tutorial to say that y'know?

There's LITERALLY 20 minutes of menu navigation in here, guys! If you're doing Quick Looks instead of video reviews, I would feel TERRIBLE if I was a developer who liked GiantBomb. I'd come here to check out my game and you've got feature-length videos of all the least interesting parts!

You played 2 matches and showed the same map twice- this'll sound dramatic, but seriously: If half the video is server lists, title screen and tutorials then who is that for? Quick Looks are huge videos now and I think you've lost sight of what the real core point of them is. They're a GOOD PREMISE! Go back and watch the first quick look, for Burnout Paradise.

I know you guys are your own quality control and I'm just some fuckin dude in the comments, but I think Quick Looks are getting really thin, losing a lot of punch, and they don't have to.

Isn't part of the point to show what the game is like though. If they have to piss around for ages to get into a match I would rather they kept it in the video otherwise they are making the game look better than it really is.

Well then just say "This game has some networking issues, it takes ages to find a match. I think they're patching it, but right now it really takes about 10 minutes. Let's skip ahead."
-~* Transition *~-

That way everything's still true. It wouldn't be 50 minutes long, so it'd be easier to watch, easier to get friends to watch, all the points about the game would be packed closer together and easier to remember, and we'd all be having a lot more fun from every angle.
I don't need the guys to simulate how boring it is to wait in a lobby- they can just tell me.  That'd still be legit.
Same with showing the tutorial and title and menu screens for 20 minutes.

LIKE I SAID THOUGH: The first 30 minutes of the TNT does a way better job of summarising the game than this does. They just jump straight into matches and talk about the game.

I understand what you are saying but it sounds like we just want different things from quick looks. You want a show, whereas I want to see them stick the game in the console, go and let's see what happens. I know they have made cuts before but they shouldn't make them if the issue is down to faults with the game. I understand you saying they could just say "matchmaking is bad" etc but I would prefer to see for myself.

What I like about GB is that they are honest and straightforward and that you are always seeing "behind the scenes," if they start editing etc it is a slippery slope towards other more dodgy presentation that hides the real experience and moves from their off the cuff style.

In anycase if it annoys you that much why not just skip on until you see them in the game. Job done.

I loved TM2 but Black felt too fast, despite the cool atmosphere and use of the Stones song. This looks much more to my liking from a gameplay perspective. As soon as shit started jumping off all the fond memories of TM2 came back to me. I'll have to check this out.

That in game announcer needs to go.

@cruxking: I think that's important information for a prospective buyer

Actually i'm quite inclined to agree with you. If only because of the latest AVP game. mult-iplayer was fun but it had the worst matchmaking system I've ever used. I would have liked to have had that pointed out before i bought it. And honestly after watching this i don't think i'm going to pick this one up so i guess they did they're jobs. informed & entertained

I think this looks really good, but I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the cars not having a specific rider. I liked that each car had a specific person in it so it's design was made for that character's personality. Sad you don't play as a bunch of people in the single player either. Still, looks neat I suppose.

Personally; The less editing the better, I want it raw as was Giant Bomb's original appeal. If you want a quick summary of how a game behaves or plays then there's a shit-tonne of other sites that do that.

Other than the online, this actually looks pretty rad, I didn't expect that. Seems like there's a lot more to this game than I expected. And damn, yea, that framerate.

Incorrect! The star-wars car fighting game was not a rip off of Twisted Metal! The star wars game was actually a rip off of vigilante 8 which is a really good rip off of twisted metal.

It's time for another return, man. PS+, maybe some battle royale stuff, let's do this.

I liked this game a bunch but it really got too complicated for its own good. Overdesigned for a mainstream audience. They really just gotta focus on the core of TM1, 2, and Black, make it look nice and bring it online.

Basically, gimme Twisted Metal 1+2.
