I remember TMNT one, same with the Power Rangers one. Weirdly liked both but then I was 15 or something :P

Teräs Käsi = Finnish for "steel hand" (direct translation).

Watched them play this on a TNT not too long ago. Think it was actually the last TNT for both Patrick and Ryan.

I own Tournament Fighters and it is not a good fighting game

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who actually liked Teräs Käsi :/

I am a big fan of the SNES Tournament Fighters. I don't know how great it is in the grand scheme, thankfully there is a way to find out lol.

I tried so hard to convince myself that Teras Kasi was fun.

It was pretty cool at the time how some of these expanded universe characters like Mara Jade showed up across multiple games.

Man, I played Masters of Teras Kasi recently. Game aborted is right...

TMNT tournament fighter on the other hand is outstanding. The unlockable characters are super broken though.

Seeing relatively obscure games like these makes me hopeful that they'll cover some lesser known gems like The Last Blade 2 or Waku Waku 7. Or at least some Darkstalkers.

I hope these guys don't rush through things and miss the fine intricacies of each individual fighter.

Tournament Fighters on Genesis is bad. It plays worse, it sounds way worse and is nowhere near as good as the SNES version.

I remember going to the CompUSA by my house over and over because they had a Playstation demo kiosk with Teras Kasi and Dynasty Warriors 2, that sold me on a playstation. Unfortunately I was 9 and my brother and sister outvoted me so my parents bought us a Nintendo 64. Looking back it's hard to know what truly was the better choice.

@anarchovelo: For a kid I think an N64 is possibly even better than a PS1 so I think you had it OK. The PS1's real strength was in its vast library and insane variety and as a kid chances are you only got a couple games a year so that didn't matter. I wouldn't sweat it.

Teras Kasi... god dammit, we played that enough to actually know character strategies. Thank god we discovered Tekken 2 soon after.

And Tournament Fighters was dope.

Man I love this series! It's awesome watching them play some of the oddest/not so popular fighting games out there because there is a lot of them out there!

Teras Kasi was so terrible that my internet connection noped out after witnessing that abomination.

I know its a Star Wars game but its pretty obvious where Teräs Käsi got its inspiration from...

@counterclockwork87: You're totally right, I enjoyed the hell out of the N64, but never built a huge library for it. Luckily enough, once we got a CD-ROM for the family PC I was able to get the PC versions of MGS and Resident Evil 2.

I'm a little disappointed they didn't go through story mode on Teras Kasi with at least one character. They have pre-rendered endings which are all super short and terrible - but it's something at least.

I bought the game used as a Star Wars fan that knew absolutely nothing about fighting games except button mashing MK games in the arcade every once in a while. I thought it was a good game simply because I didn't know any better.

Since they're stepping up the number of games evaluated in an episode, here's my list of eclectic suggestions for the next one:

• Virtual Fighter 4
• Girl Fight
• Bio Freaks

TMNT Tournament Fighters is one of the, like, four SNES games I ever owned as a small child. I didn't know a damn thing about fighting games. Still don't. Waste of money really, but damn was it fascinating at the time as a kid who loved TMNT.

@dodgyc@vigil80: Waku Waku 7 is great! I'm secretly awaiting something ridiculous to show up like Gundam Wing: Endless Duel (which is legitimately quite fun), but they wouldn't have much anime games, let alone Super Famicom ones.

I owned and loved Masters of Teras Kasi as a kid, despite all of its flaws. I was a very dumb, but entertained, child.
