Playdate: Resident Evil 4 (06/28/2019)

The Quick Turn is useful for the wolverine dude.

Ahhh the dreaded water room at the end, killing speed runs everywhere. That part was so hard for me the first time I played as a kid.

The room they ended in is probably the hardest room in the game.

Abby did totally destroy that boss like the mention at the start but it did dynamically scale its health down quite a lot. Whenever I play this game it takes me a solid 5 or so minutes to kill him and I chew through a ton of ammo, but that game is not shy about buffing the ever-loving shit out of bosses and enemies if you're playing particularly well. That's the magic of this game: it always feels perfectly tuned for whatever skill level you're playing it. The scaling difficulty they did is nothing short of wizardry.

A bit late to the party, but argh, everyone (including the GB community, apparently) forgot that Leon can make Ashley stay in one place or follow, as the player wills. Could have saved some trouble during the "Ashley gets squished by fireballs constantly" portion of this video. ;)

Wasn't going to watch the Hitman video, but I will now because of "hamburger physics".

I know the key wasn't attached to the paintings penis, but I'm disappointed that @ybbaaabby didn't once call it a "Keynis." lol

re: the most hated character discussion

I'd say Raiden pre-MGS4. Whenever people talked about MGS2 it was always how crazy it gets in the final act and how much they hated Raiden. I didn't mind him but I remember for years people hated on him and that came because of it.

Bubsy is a shoo-in. Maybe Duke Nukem in DNF.

It's kinda amazing how bad all the characters in this game are. I mean, they're (mostly) enjoyable in a cheesy way, but still.

@glots: Resident Evil is at its best when it's embracing the pulp. Overdramatic monster reveals, thick-headed heroes wondering what's going on, and hammy villains devouring scenery over their plans and/or creations.

The sub-villain so good you COMPLETELY forget about the main one!

I know i'm the only one, but I always thought this game played terribly and dragged on forever. This feature is dragging the same way.

This water room is notoriously hard

If Vinny is looking for a similar toy to what he was talking about it looks like they still sell Weapons and Warriors sets on amazon. I used to love having house wide wars with my cousins playing with those things.

Abby's screams are possibly one of the funniest things ever.
