@blupotato: Yes, especially since Dan originally said flashbangs are useless and should be sold, and now knows they are not.

I never played any of the RE games till the 2 remake (which is really damn good) but I was on board for most of RE 4... until that Little Lord popped up. I can't take this game even remotely serious anymore.

Apparently there was Escape Plan 2 last year and Escape Plan 3 this year. Stallone must really need the money. Also I feel like this is maybe the fourth or fifth time Vinny brings up The Pledge. I don't remember too much of that movie, but I do remember the downer ending being kinda neat.

Also yes, bring forth Crank 1&2 Film&40s. Or anything F&40s, really, I'm itching for a new one.

...oh yeah, the video was fun too! Dan probably should just give that flashbang tip, since like others have said, it doesn't come up during the playthrough. I only found about it accidentally when I checked for something online.

@one1fourd: I think the original Machete order completely cut Ep 1. because it's such a mess and introduces characters and aspects of relationships that hurt a lot of the later story

It always hurts me when Abby and Ben talk about the negative feedback they get from the comment sections. They have added so much to this site.

Vinny should show his kids 4-6 first just because it's going to be a lot easier to go along with the natural progression of special effects this way. Watching the rather involved and acrobatic fight scenes of 1-3 and then going back to the rather simple action sequences of 4-6 will be difficult for young kids. I grew up with A New Hope so I have a soft spot for the more timid and slower paced sabre battles, and I genuinely think they are better than the crazy stuff they started doing in the prequels. I doubt younger kids are going to have a similar appreciation.

Show them "dads Star Wars" first and then move on to the, arguably, worse movies that they will probably enjoy a lot more.

Heck I can see todays kids thinking Solo is the best one, which I thought was just kind of average to forgettable.

We all know Rogue One is the best new Star Wars film because it has the best space battle and the best droid. Don't @ me because you're wrong.

The Crank films were MADE for stuff like Film & 40s. Also I will always boost the late-great Ryan Davis' idea for Crank 3: Chev Chelios must always be on fire.

On the same level of quality: the Deep Blue Sea rap contains the greatest lyric of all time: "I ate your ancestors/The ocean is HAUNTED!"

It kills me that as much as Abby likes to use the TMP, she isn't upgrading the magazine at all. At 30 bullets, it is barely useful. At 100 and up, however...

Also, the Mine Thrower is rough for a first playthrough, but I've definitely had fun with it after becoming familiar with the game. Really useful for those invisible bugs also.

This series continues to be an absolute delight. Abby is the best and it's provided so much for the others to riff on while she plays. I do occasionally wish they wouldn't carry on an unrelated discussion over some of the cutscenes (Abby even mentioned as much at one point) but it's a small price to pay. There is some fantastic Little Lord content coming up, though, so I hope they at least get to hear that in full.

Ok, real talk: why do so many people absolutely *hate* "Dracula: Dead and Loving It"? No one I've personally talked to has been able to articulate anything more eloquent than, "It's bad because it's dumb. It's dumb because it's bad. We hates it, precious! Hssssssss"

(Aside from the one weak-ass joke about enemas, my family and I had a blast with Dracula: DALI, *especially* as someone who had to watch Brahm Stoker's Dracula numerous times with various cousins.)

(Also-also, I'll argue that Robin Hood - Men in Tights was a much weaker film than Mel Brooks' Dracula. :b )

Oh, man. I was waiting to see how Abby would respond to the sewers and it was definitely worth it. Have fun on the island!

Also, as long as you're okay with the jarring inversion of cinematic and Special FX quality, the Machete Order (4, 5, 2, 3, 6) is arguably the best way to introduce Star Wars. I would even argue replacing Attack of the Clones with Tartakovsky's Clone Wars series/movie. Clone Wars does a better job establishing the friendship between Anakin and Obi-Wan and makes Revenge of the Sith more tragic. And watching 3 before 6 provides much-needed context around what the title "Return of the Jedi" is referring to.

If your kid asks, just say everyone got old and couldn't fight as well in the later movies. You can introduce him to samurai films later.

I like the part when Abby goes "What the hell?" Also, that part where she says "What the hell?"

I can see someone hating Jaws. I wouldn't say I hate it but I find it kind of boring. Sharks don't do it for me and Jaws is one of those movies that's in so much pop culture that you feel you saw it before you have, so it's going through the motions when you finally do. It's very competently made of course with great performances but ultimately I can't really care about a shark and dudes on a boat. Give me Speed or hell Speed 2 any day of the week.

High anxiety is a much worse Mel brooks movie and Space Balls is not good either.

Also, mentioning Scorsese movies without Raging Bull and Taxi Driver, pretty strange. I like the Departed but it is pretty insane that he won for that but not for three of the most important movies in history he directed before.

Re: Terminator 2 as the perfect action movie. That reminds me of one of my favorite director stories, where Darren Aronofsky went to film school and the teacher said if you want to make trash like Terminator 2 get out of my classroom. So he Aronofsky did, dropped out and became one of this generation's most celebrated directors. Funny enough, he never made anything remotely like Terminator 2 but apparently, he's a big fan.

Re: Collateral Damage, that was one of the few action movies that got two thumbs up. I never saw it but always wanted to, especially given how criminally underrated The Sixth Day is. I rank that up as one of Arnold's best and one of the best Phillip K. Dick adaptations. Never understood why it was so slept on. From what I recall, it wasn't marketed at all and came out during a strange release window.

Okay, I gotta try pimping this texture mod one more time, tried it for the first episode but maybe no one saw it.

Since you guys luckily started playing this on PC, I strongly recommend making use of the fine work done by two RE4 superfans over at re4hd.com. They've been working for over five years to remaster the game's textures from the ground up, and even started doing some model and lighting fixes, too, and it looks sooo much better (see video comparison here). The download page for their latest release is here. I really hope you guys will take advantage of this major visual upgrade, it's really something else.

The promo materials for that KFC cheeto thing are legitimately sickening. Like I can feel my stomach start to go weird. The way the mayo is bubbling up around the cheetos is so gross. Dan could eat it with a smile on his face but I would harshly judge anyone if I saw them with that sloppy overindulgence in their hands.

Edit: "Fast food scientists know what they're doing. I will always put faith in them over myself."

Dan... please... eat a salad. The damage that you're doing to your body is not worth this persona that you're so attached to.

The only thing lamer than gross promo item from fast foot place is the faux outrage that gross promo item is somehow in any worse than 99 percent of all other fast food / fast casual.

@lonelyspacepanda: You're thinking of Paul Thomas Anderson. Unless they both have the exact same anecdote
