The watermelon shine must be one of the worst things I've ever seen in a Mario game.

it's nutty they still haven't done the shine in the house near Rico Harbor. it's not even hard to get (but I think you need 10 shines to try it.)

In for round 8 of the game.. Can't believe that Dan is still championing it.

The speed runs for the watermelon festival are around 1 minute. Around 35s using a glitch.

I open the restroom door with a paper towel. A lot of people don't wash their hands and while it probably doesn't do much, it gives me peace of mind.

Well that explains Dan's diet.

@alex "Melon farmer" was in the TV cut of Die Hard with a Vengeance. I distinctly remember watching it on Fox way back and couldn't help but notice that edit as Samuel L. Jackson's character yells "No I don't know how to use a gun, you racist melon farmer!" at McClane.

i went and played through a few levels on my cube and wow I don't know why but i find chasing shadow mario a lot easier than they seem too. Just run at mario holding the trigger halfway takes like 10 seconds

Re Speedrun Strat, the speedrun strat is actually amazing: They use a coconut to clip through the case and get the shine early. They do it early too, thereby skipping most of the other shines and getting to the Shadow Mario shine early. (Doing all the Shadow Marios unlocks the final fight so those are the important shines to get in any%)

I worked for a restaurant, from personal observation a good majority of the guests there do not wash their hands after going to the washroom.

On the plus side, I have now developed an obsessive-compulsive disorder about sanitizing every surface. Something that will no doubt bite me in the ass when the latest antibiotics-immune superbug rolls into town.

Actual mechanics of the blooper races. Green has the lowest base speed, but highest handling. Yellow is all-around, and Purple is the fastest with the worst handling. All of them can speed up or slow down by pushing the stick up and down. The max speed using the stick is the same across all bloopers, hence why the favorite strat is to pick green and then use proper speed ups on straights and brakes for corners. Jumping slows you down since bloopers only gain speed in water, but jumping the last two walls shaves seconds off.

so is the shotgun blast really that difficult to execute?

This is a very poor video game.

In my college we had a talking garbage can that would say "thank you" whenever you fed it trash. We called him Benny.

I'm only a couple of minutes into this, but Alex is shockingly bad at this. Really don't like to comment on how good or bad the hosts are at games, but how does he have so much trouble grasping how to shoot the stupid shadow mario?

Every time Abby says "Get away, get away from me!" I think of Tommy Wiseau's voice for some reason.

Watching Alex playing this while Dan coaches him is eerily similar to the Dan and his Dad videos.

I fear that this garbage game will leave Alex scarred for the rest of his life. I'm pretty happy i'm not in his shoes, i would have gone insane within a few episodes of this.
