To be honest, this would have been a really nice natural stopping point for the series. It may not have been the original premise, but we've been spending more and more time butting heads against walls.

I really hope they do 64 or Galaxy next. 64 is a lot harder than Galaxy so I think that would lend itself to stuff more like this. This whole set up is way too good to not use again on another game.

@vinny Manwich (TM) is just sloppy joe sauce, you still need to provide your own ground beef/turkey. It's actually pretty good in a pinch when you don't want to make your own sauce. High in sodium, but what canned food isn't.

Seeing the ending of Sunshine now compared to the ending of Odyssey, and man...eff this game.

That was quite a surprise ending.

It's hilarious and kinda sweet that Abby's go-to movie featuring the song "Coconut" is Practical Magic, rather than Reservoir Dogs.

Tongue Bubble story is the best story. I need more of these.

the lily pad shine is definitely meant to be a really hard challenge, but the trick to doing it seems to be to walk back along the edge since it will respawn after it dissolves. that said, for this one in my playthrough I used a savestate at the beginning of the level

The book Dan, the book. So good. Its long as fuck and there is a scene that id like to forget..(they are kids KING...wtf) He was high as fuck when he wrote it. Dont let that one scene ruin the book tho.

I don't care about why Bowser is bathing in goop. I want to know why the goop wasn't used for the lilypad level. Hell, they could've at least put a color filter on the water or something. This game has so many weird little oversights.

I think it's too real for some people. Between arranged/forced marriages being an existing awful thing and the specter of consummation being raised, I can see how the setup can raise a few eyebrows in this more reflective era for the video game community.

Like others have mentioned, though, the game isn't entirely oblivious to potential concerns. I dig the ending.

Worst come to worst you can have Alex, Vinny, and Abby forfeit the rest of their turns and Dan can spend hours and hours trying to get that final gumball all by himself.

About the Bowser wedding thing, he's been trying to force this marriage for as long as I've been alive. Dude's a bad guy, very much in that Wreck-it-Ralph sense of it being his profession. It's his whole job to kidnap princesses and try and marry them, whenever his contract doesn't force him into go-kart races and tennis tournaments. Only difference this time is he's wearing fancy dress. I'm all for it, it's business as usual but everyone dresses a lot nicer and are holding bouquets of piranha plants.

I think @danryckert's obsession with erasing 3D World from the Mario canon needs to stop. Bowser 'is never that big'. Yes, he has been, he's been bigger... Did Dan even PLAY 3D World? Is that why he always writes it off, because if he didn't play it it's not real? :p

Didn't get to see this live--which sucks--but I still have a few (somewhat) interesting comments on the topics discussed!

1) The first R-rated movie I watched was Blade in theaters with my Dad. I was 6, going on 7 at the time. Super gory, but nothing overtly suggestive for a child like me at the time, so I thought it was badass. Which it is.

2) Loved the It remake. Watched the original, but never read the book. I think that yeah, it wasn't a super scary movie, but the delivery of the tense moments is what made it legit frightening at times. Also the performances are all great, so even in the moments where the writing wasn't quite great enough to deliver in the ways they should, the acting helps to at least make those instances decent.

Also also, there some legit hilarious moments. Just a fun movie overall.

@bory: Also also also, I've eaten a shit ton of candy in my life--only time I had a cavity was when I was 5. The dentist fucked up the numbing process and said "It's too late, we just gotta pull them out" and yanked out two of my teeth with me feeling everything. Luckily it didn't scare me too much to where I can't get check-ups twice a year.

I have to agree with Dan: Vinny should have been punished for that. I empathize with his frustration, but cheating in a game and lying to his coworkers is indeed bad form. I'm the most disappointed I've ever been in him.
