Does Giant Bomb ever try to claim they're a site for kids? By that reasoning, the last Beastcast about Jeff talking about a tick on his taint was too much too.

@spencero: I know the content of the videos and podcasts contain bad language and some questionable topics and video games do contain much worse nowadays, but its a video game site, part of CBS and kids will visit.

If people don't care about it, thats fine I'm not for forcing my parental values on anyone. I was just quite suprised to see such a graphic thumbnail appear on the front page of the site.

I want to sit Dan down and explain things to him. Not because I'm frustrated but because I think he would enjoy it. And I always enjoy watching Dan understand things for the first time.

And how wind works is such a good starter for explaining all kinds of really interesting physics. I hope they eventually figure out that explaining things to Dan format they always joke about.

Edit: Dan talked about the idea of starting Mario Party Party again. I realised the thing I liked about MPP was a series that featured competition. I really enjoy watching them directly compete in videogames. I scan every UPF for wether it has a competitive videogame.

If they're not going to do another season of MPP (eventhough I would really enjoy it) I feel like a regular competetive games stream would be really fun.

PS That's also what made steal my sunshine so special, eventhough it wasn't quite the same.

It may be that I'm just poorly informed but I've never heard worry about Lyme Disease before these last two podcasts.

In Sweden people get Lyme all the time. In my experience you take antibiotics and then you're fine. My 2yo god daughter has it now and nobody is worried. That sounds like a hell of a bad case if you lose sense of smell etc.

The scarier thing is meningitis. That's the thing you do vaccinate for and is potentially lethal, albeit much rarer to boot.

Whaaa? McDonalds has the worst fries out of all large chain restaurants. Their fries are too thin and soggy, fries have got to be crispy. Taco Bell/KFC and Burger King probably have the best fries.

About Stålenhag. I think most people don't know this, but normal landscape + mechs is a very popular trend in concept art. The difference here is that Stålenhag is known ( and to be honest, does a better job giving it personality and mood. Known for a reason). Unless they copy the mech designs or actually use one of his art pieces, it is fine.

A lot of companies will use key art from artists they google up while they wait for the actual concept art to be commissioned and finished. Personally it does bother me...

@honkalot: lyme disease can be serious but not generally. it takes a while to fully get going and is treated with antibiotics. i've known a person who had more serious side effects but even then they aren't life debilitating. of all the tick diseases, i'm not even sure it's the worst.

At the 56:00 mark, Dan calls wind an "invisible pushy thing" and I'm just shocked that Abby and Jeff let that go without mentioning it.

Wind is caused by the motion of the earth, convection and to some degree momentum of the air itself. Pressure is a by-product of wind, terrain and gravity.

By and large it's convection forces and the earth's rotation though.

My memory of Children of Men is the same as Dan's, mostly chases and shooting. The premise is interesting, but not enough to overcome all the chasing and shooting for me.
