I live in Arizona for 8 years. I have had 3 tarantula in my house and easily 100 scorpions over that time, that I saw/captured/killed. I have also had 5 giant centipedes (anywhere from 15-20 cm long and 2cm wide). These bugs are so big you don't want to kill them because the mess it would make. I have been bit by giant centipede on my toe while watching TV. I have also been stung twice by scorpions. When I got stung on my finger it took over a month before I could fully use the finger for typing or using a controller. I love it here! There are gila monsters and road runners living in my back yard.

I was gonna support Dan for not being able to stand internet/messenger-like writing in games, but then he went on to say he loves Scrappy Doo and now I know I'm on the wrong side of history.

In the history of Dan's many ridiculous opinions, him liking Scrappy Doo is probably his worst, most unforgivable opinion.

@totalhell: When I sent this question in, I had an inkling someone was going to say Scrappy Doo.

I thought I woke up to an image of some daemonic chocobo, but I now know what it actually is and it's far, far worse.

Agree with Abby that Scrappy Doo is the worst Doo and that of course, Dan would like/identify with him.

There's more to that Press Your Luck story than you might know; the story takes some depressing but unsurprising turns.

ETA: Oh, man, I got to the part about video game urban legends. I've heard and been told my share, but the one that sticks with me the most is one about Lunar: The Silver Star and some nonexistent cutscenes involving the villain that give him a different motivation. Some misinformed fans latched on to it and got it made...well, not canon, but "fanon," I guess, to the point where it pops up in wikis and message boards despite not being present in the game. Tales of the phantom cutscenes get more and more elaborate every time - it's like if people went on today about how no, really, you could avert the big character death in FF7. Bizarre - and kind of disheartening, since it obscures the villain's actual, good characterization, which was landmark in its day.

I tried to cash in on the Tootsie Roll pop thing when I was a kid and sent in one of the "special" wrappers to the company. They sent back an explanation about how the "free candy" thing was an urban legend and a preprinted card that detailed some (non-urban) "legend" about the boy with the bow and arrow (so I imagine I was far from the only one who tried to redeem my wrapper).

In my neck of the woods (Maine), the flashing-headlights thing is a signal to the driver in front to go faster because the driver in back flashing the headlights is impatient. I do not believe this has achieved the desired results ever.

Once every other year or so (the latest instance was in February 2017), Dan says something I agree with wholeheartedly - I found the writing in Donut County absolutely abhorrent (and also the writing in The Messenger, but at least that game lets just play it all in Japanese so you can pretend it's a NES era import game and just ignore the dialogue, with the only issue being that you don't know what the upgrades do).

Hyped for AC Odyssey! Origins was amazing and I'm excited to explore ancient Greece.

I'm fine with scrappy doo. Don't love him, don't hate him entirely.

I wish the case lights had cast a giant spider shadow on the wall and Jeff cried.

@fatmanpalmer17: Is that when someone emails something to both teams? I've never understood the hate from that, people just want to hear the whole crews opinion on it, and it's not like the answers will be the same (well, not always at least. depends on the question).
