Yay, The Hong Kong Massacre! FYI - it's an indie game made by two people (two brothers, in fact) from Sweden, so maybe that explains a typ or two.

Kind of funny setting a birds-eye view game in a city with such extreme verticality, in terms of aesthetics. My partner is from there and so much of the atmosphere comes from, you know, looking up and around:P

I dunno, kinda just makes me want to replay Hotline Miami 1&2. Doesn't really have the same level of frantic, blindingly fast action that I come to expect from something harping so much off of Hotline Miami.

Does this game have vomlumemetric lighting?

tbh, typos in menus is probabably one of the easiest things to avoid while making a game

I think I'd rather try to play Hotline Miami first before playing this.

This game is amazing by the way, as a big fan of Hotline Miami 1 & 2, I welcome a new top down shooter that is similar to it.

The challenge to this game is to get the challenges. Doesn't really seem like Dan went for it at all. I didn't skip to the next level untill I met at least two challenges. Since you can upgrade your guns quite a lot the points are important.

My advice, play this on pc. Either Dan is making the game look bad or the aiming sucks on Ps4.

This game really reminds me of Loaded.

It's a shame there isn't another game we could compare this to other than Hotline Miami.

This game is really fun. It's brutally difficult as a Hotline Miami-like should be, and it's just janky enough to be amusing.

So doors are a big part of the game, and you can see in all of them your rifle going through the 3d model of the door :/

In a game that's about style, that's a big flaw in my opinion.

This music in this game (per quick look) seems very very bad. It also just doesn't look very fun or challenging to play inherently, so then they added the challenges to the gameplay as an afterthought.

59 secs in the menu shows a ps4 controller but at the bottom it shows A button select B button back along with the spelling error. Not a big deal just saying

Honestly I'd prefer a version of this with the camera behind the shoulder, Max Payne style. I guess I'm asking for Max Payne 4 basically. It looks cool though.

It's less Hotline Miami and more top-down bite sized Stranglehold meets Max Payne GBA. All I need is a lot of mood, thumping synths and ragdoll dudes flying about in a cloud of debris.

I'm really enjoying it. Sounds like Dan came at this with a weird attitude.

Edit: Maybe this is a PC vs PS4 issue? It's good on the PC, at least.

Also, reading a few comments here, you guys know he said he was playing on PC with a controller...thus the A button prompt. It's like when someone doesn't read the article and just jumps to the comments.

Side note: when I hear Abby say things like "never heard of it" when referring to Stranglehold/any game that I consider recent, I feel very old. It's wild to think that the 360/PS3 era was so long ago.

SkillUp had some great things to say about this game. I would be more inclined to pick it up if I didn't have enough on my plate right now. Kind of weird to go too hard in the paint on this when it is made by like two people...I feel I've heard people defend other games because of the size of the development team.

I felt like Hotline Miami's gameplay was more just a puzzle opposed to "good combat". You were looking to optimally pick the right weapon, angle, etc. This look more about the shooting than a puzzle.

I feel like this could be cool as a fps... live have a way to give the player what they are everything into and and use slo-mo to help them.

@alien765: Yeah, what the fuck was Vinny thinking during the hiring process? Obviously the interview for the Video Producer position should have included a quiz on game publishers that have been defunct for a decade.

Would be cool if there was a cinematic replay mode
