This was an awesome discussion. Mirrored a lot of my own thoughts as we progressed through this generation and it was awesome hearing about past launches and the drama and antics surrounding them.

Really hope the next episode does go into reviews as that's always been a topic that's fascinated me.

@permanentsigh: I'm pretty sure that's Alex. That sound came through on a few prior remote Beastcasts, and it seemed to hesitate and emphasize around when he was talking. That it's in this recording I'm pretty sure confirms it.

@fisk0: I think part of it is that this stuff is raytraced. The models and textures are pretty limited but those shadows are crisp af.

@fluidk: In this case, they’re talking about World of Warcraft though.

This was a fun talk, even though I’ve heard this all being discussed in some form multiple times over the years by the crew.

@foggen: I think Alex has said in the past that he shakes his legs uncontrollably, so it might be that.

This was fascinating behind the scenes look at the video games press industry, I enjoyed every minute of it. This show cased Vinnie’s amazing hosting skills, as well as Jeff and Alex’s encyclopedic knowledge of the industry, I’m in for more of this keep it coming.

I just subbed and I've been enjoying these Hotspot podcasts a lot 🤙🤙🤙

Im in the industry (dev) but still did personal red ring replacement twice, and both times was within 1 week from me shipping it out of southern california to getting it back. I still have both of those 360's working great.

It was out dev units that took for ever and a day to get back. And those RRODd just as often (if not more due to being on pretty much 24/7) than the retail ones.

Re: the text rendering stuff Jeff talks about: I wonder how much of that is constrained by tech and how much of it is studios not having the resources to iterate on it until it's resolved
