Holy shit this is freaking me out. I was just watching old youtube videos, specifically Jeff playing Ikari Warriors back in 2016. Then I immediately took a nap and when I woke up and checked the site this was top of the page... and I had a LEGIT "What year is this...?" moment.

I usually love the at home streams but man Jeff you fucked up on the audio on this one no we do not all have "Shit speakers"

The audio gets better after about 25 minutes.

Also I was going to suggest Pac-Man 2 on Twitter, even if Drew already beat you to it during his Extra Life stream. It was glorious.

It's just the Tony Hawk 2 GBA game is too loud. It gets better after that.

Watching Jeff play Cool Spot made me think about the advertisement game that i used to play.

Max & Sparky came with Omo detergent and seemed to revolve around cleaning up the world with your bubble-gun. There were also instances were you turned into a ghost (by draping a white cloth over Max). It was probably not a great game, but i remember finishing it and having a pretty good time with it. Also, what the hell is this pattern?

@clapmaster: YES! I never had that because it was only a NA release if I remember correctly. I played 1,2,3 and 4 to death, but I always wanted 2X!

Pac man 2 is so fucking bad. I have no idea how that game got made.

I'm not sure why Jeff was so convinced otherwise, but Irritating Stick did have analog support and even the Japanese version came out well after the Dualshock was available for sale.

7Up used to market itself as the uncola and so made glasses which were like the classic Coke glass but upside down. That's what this is.

Yeah 2x is my favorite THPS. It was THPS 2 with every level from THPS 1 and like 5 more levels on top of that. Some people weren't big on it because THPS 3 was soon out but while I do love 3 I still like 2 more. Also THPS kinda sucked with the og xbox controller.

I would really love to watch these but the consistent stuttering is just too much. It's like it skips a frame or two every second.

He said it when he turned down the game vol on Tony Hawk. I was having problems hearing him and I have floor standing speakers.

THPS2 for GBA was, in honesty, my first introduction to Tony Hawk games, and it set my beliefs for the franchise. Even at the time I remember being really impressed at how good they looked and how well they ran, given the GBA.

I ended up being actually pretty disappointed when I tried a normal Tony Hawk game, because it just didn't play like the games I had been playing.

Holy shit Tony Hawk 2 for the GBA was amazing. Thinking about it, it's probably my most played GBA game. Especially when the SP came out, would play it in bed all night.

Watched the Drew stream of Pac-Man 2 mentioned above and it is comedy gold. His reactions, and the cavalcade of things going wrong, are priceless. Jeff's sheer bafflement here is a great intro to it.

The funny thing is that Jeff’s voice probably stands out MORE on shitty speakers than good ones, given the frequency response curves bad speakers tend to have over good ones (i.e. pretty limited to vocal-ish ranges). That was such a bizarre response.

Anyway, I love a good Jeff stream, and Elevator Action Returns kicks so much ass. I’m in love with the way it looks (though maybe the arcade version a bit over the Saturn one). Taito had some good style around then.

Speaking of Skateboarding games. The Kickstarter for Session is up.

The Tony Hawks GBA game rocked my world. When I ended up inheriting the PSX version, I couldn't stand it, the viewpoint was so disorientating to me!

I remember the roof gaps being pretty challenging on the GBA game, also that weird sculpture grind was a cross-your-fingers special.

I love Jeff's reaction to Pacman 2 so much. Such a weird game, it reminds me of Wonder Project J (but far less controllable).

(I have to say, though, that I am impressed with the sheer number of animations they gave Pac-Man in this game.)

I played a bunch of THPS2 on GBA while on vacation and was pretty into Rage Against the Machine by then, but I somehow never noticed that the BGM starting at 5:18 has a guitar riff that sounds straight out of their track Roll Right.

I recall homemade irritating stick games at places like church festivals, except instead of a stick between two barriers they usually had a loop you had to guide around a structure of copper pipes (and by touching you'd close a circuit with a bell). Either way, play Kurukuru Kururin instead.
