Their discussion about fighting games and not lot of them out there. There is guilty gear accent core on xbla and last fall we saw tekken tag tournament 2 come out. Persona 4 arena has not come out on europe yet.

I don't think the intention of the devs was to get people off to the lady. Hearing Patrick's comment on the trailer was really weird. Seeing people here talking about it is even weirder. What the hell is wrong with everyone. Love the idea of Patrick talking about fighting games as if he has any clue what's going on in those communities. Seriously, since when does he know anything at all about fighting games? I remember a recent podcast (one of the GOTY podcasts maybe?) when he said, more or less, that he doesn't care about those kinds of games at all and doesn't feel that he can judge them or comment on them... and yet here he is telling us about the "state of fighting games".

and that only creates a controlling atmosphere where no woman in video games can ever have breasts deemed too large or clothes considered too revealing. female characters go from being victims of objectification to being subject to all manner of restriction and refinement to avoid any potential for scathing scrutiny.

it comes off as a mentality that's trying too hard to do what immediately seems like the right thing, and consequently misses the point. the metric that if the purpose or reasoning isn't painfully explicit, then it must be gratuitous and objectifying. it's just silly.

I know every week can't be completely awesome, but its real disappointing how boring and ho-hum the first week with Jeff, Ryan and Patrick being back turned out compared to utter insanity and hilarity of last week with Vinny, Brad, Alexis and Drew running the show.

Man this TNT just made me want another Phantom Dust game I use to play the hell out of that game it was so damn amazing.

Patrick does have a knack to jump to wrong conclusions, talking about stuff he has no idea about -- but so does Ryan. I know Ryan does it less obnoxiously, but I have no problems with Patrick as a person.

...as far as the whole staffing argument as it pertains to Patrick goes, I disagree with him on a ton of stuff whether it's video games, politics, or even clothing-- but that doesn't mean he should leave... I mean, why would it?

Oh hey, Word of Lowtax squawking at that poor guy in the last eight man match.

Last week was awesome, so many fun videos. Breaking Brad, Euro Truck simulator and a crazy ass tnt. All in the first week of the year. This week? Well... I'll let you be the judge for that.

Except it's not just me, It's numerous and plenty of people in the comments of every video and article he's ever in. And it's not a bias about him as person, it's also the fact that he's just not very good at what he does and obviously brings the quality of the website down.

The vast majority on the site probably don't care either way, but it's certainly nothing but a returning vocal majority that keeps commenting that he should leave, and there's an equal (I'd like to think larger) group of people who appreciate what he has done for the site.

Given that it's Jeff's and the rest of the staff's opinion that he should continue working there (as evidenced by his continued employment,) I think you might be missing something. Like reason, for instance, if you think that a vocal minority disagreeing with someone is basis for terminating their employment.
