I was mildly more interested in this game than after this QL. A military-esque shooter has to be really interesting before I will think of it. I did like The Division 2.

I wouldn't touch this game with a ten foot pole due to the microtransactions that are in the game. I haven't watched the video yet so I don't know if the guys touched on them or not but its just disgusting what they put in the game. And this is coming from someone who still plays Wildlands today.

I couldn't tell. Team seems kinda happy on it. Sometimes jeff sounds down on a game then he gives it goty list 10 like the ghost recon wildlands game. I agree with jeff. janky wildlands was fun after you let it go that it's just a 3/5 on paper but 4/5 in fun. Going down a mountain on a bike at 70 mph and just bopping off hills unrealistically and never falling was bad if you rate it against red dead 2 (REALISM REVIEW RATING) but fun cause wtf else could they do...make it boring and have you fall off constantly. Wildlands felt like an old school arcade game that was there for coins and quick fun and that's ok when we have hundreds of good deep games like witcher etc. I think games are becoming like movies and music where we can't quantify a "good" game. Sometime your personal need at the moment matter. Ben's needs are meet by destiny and most else will fall flat. I wish they convey that in videos more thou. When they are down on a thing it usually fuels fire for people who are down on it too cause they use GB's take as absolute.

I really can't wait to play the next Rayman game where it's an open world with colored loot and a floating Globox you toss into the air to tag all the enemies. Fucking Ubisoft...

Jon Bernthal does a good whatever punisher voice that he does, sounds like he wasn't phoning it in.

This game has some really neat ideas. But it sounds like they weren't able to go far enough with them. That's a bummer.

This game is so much fun and first thing I recommend is turning up the difficulty.

Scouting an entire enemy camp with a drone (which you get exp for so they managed to make it not just useful but assist with progression), climbing a tall rock, pulling out a 6 foot silenced sniper rifle and plinking enemies away one after another feels AWESOME and then shit hits the fan and you turn off the silencer put some mines on a stairwell, and go back to sniping as enemies head towards your position and feel like a true bad ass as enemies everywhere are yelling THEYRE KILLING US ALL.

I don't need a story or anything I just wanna assault bases.

The people complaining about the micro transactions, oh god, it's a single player game and who cares? I love collecting new gear just killing enemies and considering you can just farm loot anywhere feels so right to rack another round and go hunting.

Also you can pause the game for 3 hours plus, so don't tell me its not a single player game.

The game has very aggressive AI and being in a forest surrounded as a car pulls up and more guys come out and you're bleeding, limping, and running for cover before a sniper bullet hits you from a helicopter is just fuckin epic.

I'm just going base to base and clearing them, and I'm so on board. This is better than wild lands and wild lands was awesome but the graphics, way enemies fall as you gun em down, and general stealth here is on another level. Clearing bases at night as enemies walk around with flashlights is so tense.

I had a 10 minute fire fight trapped in a tower as 2 bases on both sides kept approaching and I had mines all over the road so blew the shit out of them as reinforcements came.

Sniper rifle, and advanced difficulty solo is just so much fun.

If anyone wants to commit war crimes in Auroa on pc and wants a sniper battle buddy I'm interested to try the cop.

Also, you can turn off the coop message, or anything in the UI. There's tons of customization.

Also, you can shoot pilots out of helicopters and the helicopter explodes because, why wouldn't it? Not always, sometimes it crashes, but it's pretty great when it does explode.

My favorite gaming experiences I've had this year have already all been in this game. I've had about 5 or 6 absolutely insane fire fights utilizing all my items and ammo and every time it just feels so exhilarating to come out thr other end alive considering one bullet usually ends your career.

If you like assassins creed odyssey and like guns, this game is unparalleled for feeling like you're in commando or universal soldier.

Feel bad for the people out there who feel pressured by micro-transactions. This is the kind of game that will get it's hooks into those people.

Buddy, it's literally optional cosmetic stuff, for real. Like the page for buy extras is admittedly ridiculous in how much you CAN spend, but why? Most of everything you can find in the world anyway, and the stuff you can't is SUPER limited, or timesaver bullshit that imo, is something I never want unless I NEED to rush the story. I've even seen instances of people mistaking the in-game shop with the microtransaction store, and making the whole 'THIS IS BULLSHIT' tirade around that, which is hilarious. You rob yourself of fun with the microtransactions, that really don't affect the gameplay unless you want a helicopter right out the gate instead of playing the game to get it instead. ...Which you can buy right out the gate with in-game currency, literally as soon as you're done with intro stuff. You won't get the flaming hot cheeto red variant for $4.99, but it's a goddamn helicopter that flies and does the same exact shit.

There is a lot of noise about camo being locked behind paywalls. First, you can find all of that in the world, as stated when hovering over a location that describes what loot/cosmetics/guns are there, but lets ignore that for a second, and like many, act like you can't do that. So, in this pretend case where you can only buy the camo cosmetics, lets think about that in terms of how it actually affects the game's quality- The camo doesn't actually matter in gameplay (Actually sort of bummed about that), sssoo... why does it matter other than vanity? If it's for vanity, and is a microtransaction, does this not follow the same formula that wildlands did (in actuality, literally the same model), or any game with visual appearance for sale? Warframe, Destiny 2, Apex Legends, all of these do the EXACT same shit, and if it's only the variety and number of buyables they have available that is bugging people, I'm not sure why, as it's completely ignorable, which in my case, I am completely ignoring and it hasn't made a difference at all.

I'm not sure why this is a deal breaker for people, other than a misunderstanding of just what microtransactions in this...DON'T do for you, which is affect the gameplay, which is the only case in which I actually could care to be mad about it.v

this game seems really... unsatisfying

While I'm not interested in playing a tactical shooter like this, I will say Im really impressed by the look of it. I know it sounds minor, but the swaying of those trees actually reminds me of real life. It looks good!

Also: Ben's I wanna get flashbanged, is basically the sequel to Dan's "I wanna get shot."

Any game that sells "timesavers" is not worth my time by default. Looks bland as fuck anyway.

The voice acting is pretty much the reason I hate modern American military movies. Very deep voice. And serious. And the weight of the world is on these shoulders.

The Division 2 is better than this game in every way. If you like this type of game, do yourself a favor and get that one if you don't have it already.

@sambambo: @benpack: noticed your comments about Ben, just distatsteful. He's been really good on the site & I for one really enjoy his chemistry with Jeff. If you don't like it, don't watch! Looking at your profile you kep saying your not going to watch West stuff anymore, but keep leaving critism. No one is above that, just maybe try to be a bit more constructive, I think the Giant Bomb community in general is pretty great, just think, they are people, doing a job to provide us with hours of great entertainment.

You can get rid of it in the settings! First thing I did.

I feel like removing the AI teammates was a bizarrely dumbshit thing to do. Like.....why? The effort that was put into it in Wildlands not only made it very playable from a solo standpoint, but it showed an interesting level of devotion to how the game would stand up either offline or on.
So..I mean is Ubisoft really that petty and into this bullshit "live service" thing that they won't even put them in here "until later on?" Like...what is the fucking reason for this? I really was excited for this, but now I don't even care about playing it with all the bullshit they've packed into it. And the no teammates thing really seals the deal. What a profoundly dumb decision.
