Unprofessional Fridays: 02/15/13

Wow, they actually seemed to have some reverence for System Shock 2. I'm surprised, I really expected the GB guys to rag on how "dated" it looks and how stupid they think it is.

Ryan genuinely seemed to enjoy playing it too, and he actually was able to figure things out. I really expected a lot of complaining about obtuse controls, blocky graphics, and how the game doesn't lead you or tell you what to do enough. I was kind of dumbfounded that Ryan complained about the weird controls but didn't rebind them, that's the first thing I do any time I start a PC game up.

I do agree with Brad about being bummed out about Bioshock after having played SS2. Bioshock literally just reused most of SS2's mechanics and plot beats, which was really surprising and a little disheartening when you realize that even the twist was reused.

I would happily watch Brad play a lot more Banjo.

I loved Boom Boom Rocket and how strange it was.

I really hope they continue with System Shock in the future. Making it a mini-endurance run featured every friday would be amazing.

Was at my son't piano recital when this was live, looking forward to downloading the HD version, throwing it up on the LCD projector and laying in my recliner for a couple of hours watching it. Saturdays.

I loved Drew and Brad laughing at the dancing robot while Jeff looks on with dead, unfeeling eyes.

OMG I've played SS2 maybe a dozen times and I've never seen that dancing robot. BEST GAME EVER!

Love how enthusiastic (and desperate) Jeff his to talk next gen, we are desperate for new systems.

I really hope Sony keeps the XMB for the PS4, it is simple and easily understandable, and I love the game specific backgrounds when you stay on its icon.

well brad was definitely a downer on this episode. sucks that this one was the free one considering the others were soo much better than this one.

@mrfluke: I think that was only for the live stream, and only because they were having too many problems with the site to keep non-subscribers out and let subscribers in.

I kinda wish Sony and Microsoft would pull a Saturn just so we don't have go through a drawn out next gen announcements/reveals.

The livestream was open to everyone because the site was really iffy at the time so the only reliable way to watch was twitch.

but see that same situation happened for bradley may cry part 2, and looking at the subscribers video page, it doesnt seem to be tagged as premium content (and its still filed under subscribers), but this unprofessional fridays was (when this one was supposed to be free?).

@snide When I am watching videos on the new site, they play fine when they are the initial size, but when I full screen them, they get really choppy and seem like they are skipping frames. Just fyi, new site looks great too.

That ending was hilarious, but I'm kind of bummed we didn't see a little more of the Falcon. I wanted to see Half-Life 2.

@mrfluke: They are two separate things...one of the editors accidentally published Bradley may cry to Youtube, thus making it free to all. As for the Unprofessional Fridays we were having too many database/server issues so just opened it up to everyone.

Jumping Flash for PS4 would make me want a PS4.

Man, I never played System Shock 2 which kind of amazes me for multiple reasons, but damn, a lot of the HUD, UI and even the items/weapons look EXACTLY like Deus Ex which at the time was one of my favorite games ever.

Galaga Legions DX is barely different from the original, I don't get their distaste for the games, they're solid Galaga-inspired shooters. Though, the Space Invaders revival games are probably the best of the games of that ilk.

ah ok, my mistake then. very sorry if this looked like i was causing trouble or raging about t, i was just confused. as this wasnt the first time issues like this had happened, as patrick did a 999 spoilercast for premium members, but i found it under features, and all the stuff under features is free for everyone ( i did PM patrick and he fixed it) minor issue overall though.
