apparently the "suicide handle/knob" is called that because of how useless it is to operate a vehicle during an emergency!

For typing games I highly recommend Epistory and Textorcist! Someone in the chat mentioned Nanotale which is the game Fishing Cactus made after Epistory. Excited to check it out.

I can confirm, the Keychron Q1 is fantastic. I'm typing on one now and it makes all my other keyboards feel like dogshit.

Since the pandemic started I've become some kind of coffee pervert. Just got 10 pounds of green in the mail TODAY

I've been deep in the keyboard hole the last few months. All I can say is that I'm thankful these things tend to have good resale value.

Love the keyboard talk, we'd love some GB keycaps...

@jeff I'm with you on the spit keyboard thing. I got a ZSA Moonlander that has been fantastic. It has hotswap-able switches so you can easily change to whatever you want to use, and the software to program it is amazing and runs in a browser.

Missed a good UPF, dang.

I'm officially addicted to Jan's hobby segment. I did not expect high end skip ropes.

Owning one mechanics keyboard I get but owning multiple mechanical keyboards is the quintessential definition of excess disposable income - good on ya if you have it though

I think they quick looked Epistory back in the day? Textorcist is in the current Humble Choice bundle.

I love a good moleskin notebook. I use and go through them all of the time thanks to work

@humanity: Absolutely. I'm glad Alex made it clear from the beginning that it's a luxury hobby (and i say this as someone who's in the hobby myself)

Yeah these kinds of consumer hobbies can get expensive beyond your means even if you're aware of that fact. There was a brief period where I spent way more than I intended to on different keyboards and keycaps. Nowadays I'm still interested in keyboard stuff but I wouldn't consider myself "part of the hobby"; I'm just looking to build myself a split keyboard which is small but not too small and minimal frills to keep the cost (relatively) low. No more ludicrously expensive keycaps for me!

I somehow dodged the audiophile bullet, though.

I'm loving this new UPF trend of having a sort of "cold open" before getting into the video games. Sometimes its just everyone shooting the shit, other times I get to learn about the keyboard community. UPF is my favorite show and its been getting even better lately.

@janman Curious what jump ropes/handles you got cause I've been jumping rope as well. Looking to level up my game as well.

@yapapanda: Not an ad or anything but I got the "Get Lean" Crossrope set. They're pretttttty pricey but I've been enjoying them so far. The weighted rope was no joke.

Epistory is really fun but it can enforce some bad typing habits. It doesn't punish errors so you can really mash some awful messes out and still succeed in the typing segments.

All the guests you guys have been bringing onto UPF have been awesome! I really enjoyed Alex this week! I'd love to see some of the previous guests return for more as well! (I'm starting to miss Voidburger already)
