Quick Look: Vampire Survivors Legacy of Moonspell DLC

Well, time to make this game a problem for me again.

That's... a Tanuki and I wouldn't be surprised if that thing slung over its shoulder is its scrotum. Because, you know Tanuki.

Dear lord in heaven above this is fuckin madness. I have only recently gotten deep into Vampire Survivors after resisting the call for months, but now that I have fallen to its charms I am doomed for eternity. I do not regret this.

I say this with love and admiration... this is a top tier classic GB video and should be up there with the greats

@ford_dent: just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

This is my first time seeing this game in action after hearing people suddenly rave about it, and. . .I don't get it. It looks for all the world like a cheap mobile game, yet so many people whose opinions I respect love it. Then again, I also just started playing Hollow Knight recently, and I don't get the excitement for it either.

Maybe my fun gland is broken.

@missashley: fwiw the only way I can explain it is they made a slightly more active clicker game, where you get the satisfaction of gradually mowing down thousands of zombies and also the satisfaction of putting together a “build” of upgrades that eventually feels like you’re doing disgusting DPS.

You have to be the sort of person who enjoys watching the numbers go up.

Also I think a big part of it leaving a good impression is that the developer is pretty much an unknown and the game is like $3. Like absolutely the whole enterprise has the vibe of a 360-era Xbox Live Indie Game made on a shoestring budget that should not cost the consumer more than $5 USD.

This is dead-on. Had this game existed as-is back then, I probably would've been more impressed.

The game’s bestiary Tanuki entry reads “Rotund trickster, always seen carrying his tail over his shoulder. Hang on, I’m getting a note passed to me. Oh. Actually it’s not his tail. Probably best you look this up yourself.”

Yeah, there’s some extra jokes hiding in the bestiary and item descriptions.

I played out of order "void scrappers" that is 2,96€ on steam, way faster paced very i think a better game than this.

Bought this the original because of all the recommendations, way slower paced, mobile game looking thing, is not as good.

give it to being the original of the genre, but there is a reason why we evolve/build up on these games.
