No idea what specifically rebuilt means, could mean they're updating the game like Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, could mean "it now runs on your PS4 instead of a PC". $60 is steep but if I didn't have a PC I'd happily pay that much for 2012's GOTY running at a better resolution/framerate with all the DLC.

Next Gen is here at last!

I normally hate double-dipping, but this is one of the few games that I'm willing to do that for. I don't own all of the DLC, either, so might as well dive back in.

So this is what next gen has come to.

This is cool for people that never got to play it I guess? not sure if I'm liking this trend or not. This does remind me I need to go back and replay this game because it was amazing, especially with all the DLC.

Great for people who haven't played it! I liked the game quite a bit but $60 is a little steep, especially in the busy fall release window. I'll wait for the price to drop.

Oh man, now I want Vinny Caravella's Sleeping Dogs, a two hour quick look where he gets up to no good on the mean streets of virtual Hong Kong. At the end, it turns out that Alex was an undercover cop in too deep.

I have a feeling that buying all the DLC on XBL or PSN would set you back somewhere around $50 so this isn't the worst deal in the world as long as it looks as good or better than the maxed out PC version (minus super sampling of course).

I actually had been hoping they'd do this but didn't think it would happen since it had been a while. Very interested since I never got around to the 360 version.

Hoping they do this for Saints Row 4 as well, but not holding my breath.

Sleeping Dogs isn't exactly an easy game to run at 60 fps on PC with everything maxed out, even at only 1920x1200. I'm curious to see what the new consoles can do with it. Open world games are usually some of the most taxing for consoles...I would expect it to be like the PC version with high resolution texture pack, but running at 30 fps.

That would be a waste of $5 if your computer is a piece of shit.

Well, I imagine if you're not into gaming on PC and you missed out on some of the big hits last generation (or you just really, really liked them), then now is probably a super exciting time to be into video games.

Can anyone give me an idea of how much content, gameplay time the DLC adds?

I was literally seconds away from purchasing the Sleeping Dogs dlc earlier today. I've been wanting to play through the game again, and I've been itching to buy the dlc. I'm glad I decided not to. This'll do me fine.

Anyway, Square Enix is mad for charging a full $60 for that. I love me some Sleeping Dogs but you can get the regular version for like $5 now. The DLC doesn't really cover the other $55.

Sleeping Dogs was an awesome game, this just reminded me that I haven't played the DLC yet.

It's a great game and i loved it, but i dunno seems weird is all. But if they're putting out a remastered version perhaps theres hope for a sequel? *fingers crossed*

@clonedzero: They already announced a sequel (or at least a game set in the same universe) last year, called Triad Wars. Hopefully we'll be hearing more about it soon. All we have so far is this image posted by the devs on Twitter:

Happy for console players who haven't gotten the chance to play this yet, but I'm not interested in going through this again with better graphics. I am happy with this trend since I'll be able to play an upgraded version of The Last of Us.

Like The Last of Us, this is a last-gen game that I never got to play so I'll definitely check this out.

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Watch Dogs? Sleeping Dogs is a completely different and much better game inspired by Hong Kong Action Cinema.

@corruptedevil: You are right. Longest heatwave in 60 years is taking it's toll. I swear that when I looked at the picture I saw image for Watch Dogs.

I can see a market for this. Until about 3 weeks ago I was the intended market.

I've primarily played games on a console for years. I like the convenience and I prefer to sit back in a comfy chair and play on a bigger screen. I've known just how far behind my 360 was graphically compared to the PC, but that was the price to pay.

I have a PS4, and I've seen the graphical and loading speed upgrades over my 360 already. Sleeping Dogs is one of my all time favourites. The chance to play it again at a higher res and all the DLC thrown in? Yeah, damn right sign me up.

However, just like with Tomb Raider the issue I have is with price. This is a full price game, but it isn't a new game. Lets face it, this is an easy PC port and we'll see plenty of them as I suspect the new consoles are going to be much friendlier for developers to port PC games to than their predecessors. I also suspect that these are nice little 'tide over' projects that need a minimal staff and will generate enough cash-flow to allow studios to retain staff that would over wise be let go in between projects.

I personally bought Tomb Raider Definitive Edition because it was going to be the best version of the game available for hardware that I owned at that time, but I was annoyed at a 'new release' price tag when I knew that game was always on offer on PC for much, much lower prices. Case in point, it was available as a GOTY edition on Humblebundle for £6 all last week.... So was Sleeping Dogs.... so yeah the price does extract the urine somewhat.

I wouldn't buy it now because I now have a Mac running Boot Camp which is capable of running it with every bell and whistle turned on at 1440p, and boy does it shine at those settings. But still, I wouldn't begrudge anyone with PS4/XB1 wanting to see it running so much better than it did on the previous gen consoles buying it, and if I was still in that position I'd be massively excited about this release. I'd also be screaming out for a Skyrim definitive edition, but luckily I'm not in that boat anymore either.

I'm as tired as anyone else of all the HD remakes, but Sleeping Dogs is fucking awesome. I never got to play any of the DLC so that sounds like a good deal too.
