Main character form the Guilty Gear series. He has appeared in every game in the series. His name is derived from Freddie Mercury's (the lead pianist and vocalist of the legendary rock band Queen) nickname, Mr. Badguy.
@Claude: Did the other characters beside him have as much as nine different win / lose animations in Mario Strikers, I think not. The issue is more wth they should use him for besides Wario's partner in sports.

Waluigi actually has a complex Japanese etymology, with many meanings that refer to Waluigi's personality. In Japanese, the "r" and "l" make the same sound, so Luigi can be pronounced in Japanese as "Ruiji", and Waluigi can be pronounced as as "Waruiji". "Waruiji" is a portmanteau of "warui", the Japanese word for "bad" or "evil", and "Ruiji", making his name literally evil Luigi. Additionally, warui, also means to make a condescending apology, instead of a polite apology, referring to Waluigi's arrogance. "Waruiji" is also an anagram of the Japanese word "ijiwaru" which translates to "someone who is bad" or "mean-spirited" -Copypasta Wikipedia.
I will argue that Waluigi's name is not only awesome but the most well thought out character in the Mario universe.

Man, Star Ocean 3 & 4 sucked so much when it came to characters (and plots, but that's a different topic) :( . Edge Maverick made me throw up in my mouth a little when the name was first revealed, especially since whoever came up with his character probably named him that in all seriousness, but SO 3's main hero is pretty bad, too.
