Apparently you can have your childhood back in fact it's only $40
So I'm sure you remember spending those long '90s summer days tucked safely inside your basement, den, rec-room, etc with your console avoiding the heat and genuinely enjoying your childhood preferably with a friend to enjoy all that blast processy goodness, well those days are here again. I won't lie a single player purchase this a little weak these games are all awesome there a plenty of emulators out there and all you want to is play a little sonic I'm pretty sure it's playable on everything from the atari to a goddamn toaster at this point. but it's local multiplayer where this game shines.
I had buddy of mine over and for shits and giggles we brought this out and for the next two we spent almost 12 hours a day getting every acheivement, playing every master system game, and watching all the movies and we felt like we were 8 years old again it was great. One evening of particular note involved a 5 hour Mean Bean Machine Playthrough which involved both of us using every trick we know to beat the scowling fucker and his minions and you know what's special about those 5 hours I didn't think about my problems once, no how do I pay the rent, no how do I get a new job, no how do I keep the power on, I only thought of beans,
The second great point of this game is that all the original cheat codes remain intact which may sound lame at first but remember this back when not only were cheat codes well hidden but were downright neccessary for some games (I'm looking at you Mean Bean Machine) . This feature is even more enhanced when working in a two man team I remember my buddy playing Vector man while would watch carefully and when his health too low I commandeer the controller and fire out the refill health code so fast you could smell burnt controller.it became a fun excercise in timing and all in all a truly worthwhile use of an afternoon
So for a final verdict on this game if you're introverted type leave it alone you'll have more fun with an emulator but if you have buddy you hang out with and want to go back to '92 for a couple days I totally recommend this title you won't be dissapointed even if that's only because of the nostaglia factor.
