Microsoft seems like they pissed off Valve by crippling free content and patches through Live. Sony is probably offering an open platform and a wad of cash in one of the smartest moves they've made in a long while. I think MS has handled that situation horribly and it's going to cost them big.
What's funny is that I can have motion sensing with the Wii and it's still effing cheaper. Probably works better too since they came out with it first. Stupid Microsoft stepping on everybody's toes.
I don't know. I guess my overall reaction to the show is "meh, it's alright". Honestly, the brightest points of the show were largely unrelated to actual games. The comedy bit by Kevin Butler and the introduction to Portal 2 by Gabe Newell were the best things in the show in my opinion. Game wise, there really weren't too many surprises. The 3D stuff was long and laborious on TV. Really, unless you are watching it in 3D, I can't see anyone getting excited. Killzone 3 looked like more Killzone which is good, but leaves me with the same sense of deja vu as Halo Reach and Call of Duty: Black Ops. Other games look interesting, I can't deny that, but all of them are known quantities. I would have preferred a closer look at Final Fantasy XIII Versus to another trailer for FFXIV, although the brief looks at InFamous 2 and Twisted Metal were nice. I was interested in the overall promise of Little Big Planet 2. Knowing that the community can make any type of game is exciting whereas the mostly platformers with float controls found in the original didn't hold me for long. The Move stuff looked familiar or non-essential to the game, but I'm hoping things will develop over time. I give this show a "B-".
Nintendos was by far the strongest conference in my opinion, between Microsoft and Sony I would say I prefer the MS one in terms of what games they showed but the Playstation one was better paced and presented. Portal 2 was probably the most exciting announcement they had (for me at least) but I'm going to get that on the PC anyway so it being there didn't mean much to me. The move seemed to work well but what it did didn't seem to distance itself enough from what the motion plus does, even though the kinect demostrations were dull and the games kind of unispired they showed something new and that's it more than just an eyetoy. Twisted Metal and Littlebigplanet 2 looked good even though I don't really know enough people with PS3s to get the most out of them, it's a shame because I enjoyed the first LBP and old TM a lot.

Don't get me wrong Nintendo had a great press conference? but a bunch of sequels to the same games we've been playing centuries compared to new amazing next-gen IPs.

I'm thinking they might be saving it for TGS.. Sony did have an awful lot of stuff to get through this time so maybe that's why many of their big games were left out.

The Last Guardian will probably be Gamescom or TGS tbh. Would've liked to see something out of Agent though. After Red Dead I'm extremely curious what we get for a platform exclusive.

This is actually a good idea. As long as players still get to play online for free I don't see any issue with it. Maybe it could have been a little cheaper considering it's not giving you online access (the main draw of Xbox Live at the same price), but it looks like a really smart move and a great way to make some extra cash.
@Cube: I think it all depends on what games are available for the 1 hour trial.
Full Game Trial: This premium feature gives you the chance to try PSN and Blu-ray disc titles before you buy them in a whole new way. We are not talking normal demos of selected parts of a game here. With Full Game Trial, you can download the full game and play it as if you owned it for approximately one hour, depending on the game, before you decide if you want to buy it or not. So you can check out the online modes, play against friends or anything else you’d normally do with a game.
The other great thing is that your progress and trophies from the trial will all be unlocked if you buy the game so no need to go back and start again.
With the way the Playstation blog writes it, this is going to be very, very interesting. If this opens up the floodgates for digital distribution of Blu-ray titles, this is going to be HUGE.

um Im not talking about brand new IPs... Talking New IPs as in not sequals and remakes of the same shit you've already done. SONY and Microsoft both have given us new IPs (inFamous, littlebigplanet) there sequels to NEW IPs not just a sequal to crash or something. Nintendo feeds people the same crap and everyone is extremely happy for it. I understand its' cool, cause even I wanna play Donkey Kong. But E3 is about what the future holds for us gamers. And Nintendo gave us all our classics favs, and a new handheld. Sony showed us what there doing with 3D, motion, online, and there upcoming titles. Isn't that what a press conference is about.
It's E3 2010 and all we have too look foward to from nintendo is Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Kriby, Golden Eye, and a New DS. If would have told you that 5 years ago, everyone would think I'm crazy. Other than Wii graphics on a DS, what has nintendo pushed? 3-D? the same 3D that everyone is complaining about from SONY and Microsoft? Please.

That's all im asking... create new IPs that uses the Wii's feature better. All they do is create new ways to play the same games every generation.
