Oh right! Muramasa, that Wii game. Totally getting it now, then.

So this PS3 DVR thing, anyone think we will see it outside of Japan? As a person without DVR, nor the time to watch the three to five shows I like when they air, I hope so.

Not a chance. It's been out in Japan for years.

Yeah those Vitas have zero chance of coming out over here. Totally sucks.
God damn Sony!. Japan has blue PS3's and all that cool snazz but us Americans get stuck with plain black consoles only! Don't they know people want different color consoles/handhelds here too?!?

Oh really? I need to keep up. Is there any official reason or is it certain cable companies wouldn't like that the install base of people having DVRs would vastly increase? And as a result Sony would just say fuck it and not deal with the hassle?
And it is over. Big hardware announcements, but relatively light on games that were new, even though it was cool they talked about Vita games alot. They did that better then at e3. Definately been meaning to check out Muramasa on Wii.
@TheHT: My friend figured it out maybe? "88888888888 in Japanese, rather 8 is a homonym for pachi which is the Japanese sound for clapping. So when they go 888888888888 it's clapping." They would do it when people got on or off the stage I thought that was fun.

I wonder if Japanese live stream chat's are full of racism, homophobia and rampant sexism being slung around by anti-social youngsters like they are in Western chat???
When I see Japanese I just assume they're talking about robots.

I'm sure it's because of the cable companies but I can't say that for sure. North America is the only region without it. Japan has Torne, Europe has PlayTV, and we get jack shit. Would be an awesome thing to have.
Dear Sony Spies on Giant Bomb, if you release a white Vita in america, I will purchase a white Vita with my legal tender. Sincerely, Hunter.

ahhh, interesting.
i think i'll be that guy and do that in the GB chat, haha.
How crazy was it to see Crash Bandicoot in a press conference in 2012?
The 12GB PS3 still has a HDD slot. Makes that a good option for those who want to upgrade the hard drive.

@devilzrule27: In the U.S. too? Awesome.
Yeah. Bundled with the game for $250.
Damn it. Now I have to buy a Vita, lest I face the wrath of The Sony Spies.

So is someone going to post a summary of everything that was in the conference, or am I to assume that the lack of a summary is the summary?
He didn't cover everything mentioned, but Patrick did post an article with the most prominent highlights.

So, absolutely nothing then. Wow. I usually feel bad when I have to miss press conferences, but I don't feel too bad about missing that.
I think tonight's Conference puts things in perspective of how bad a shape the Vita is in right now. Almost everything announced for it is also coming out for PSP, or is a Monster Hunter clone. The problem is the device doesn't have Monster Hunter. Or Final Fantasy. Or Metal Gear. And given the current and future state of the device, I can't see it getting them outside of the Final Fantasy X HD remake, which we haven't seen hide or hair of. And the prominent Monster Hunter clone, Soul Sacrifice is coming out in the same time frame as Monster Hunter 4. Ouch.
The lack of a PS3 price cut alongside the new Slim also puts things in perspective of how much a Playstation 4 is going to cost at launch, i.e. a lot more than you'd think at first glance. We're looking at $500 minimum again.

I think they are banking on Inafune's name carrying that game against Monster Hunter.
As far as the non price cut I think Sony is just trying to maximize profits while they can. The system is selling well, there is no need to slash the price. The 250GB 360 sells for 300 bucks. And I think most people are expecting the new consoles to cost in the 400-500 dollar range anyway.

Good now we can all mock Sony for thinking it's okay to release a 12GB console in this day and age.
Wait. Did you guys mock Nintendo about making an 8GB console yet?? Man, I hope I didn't miss that!
God, that was so last week. Learn to keep up!
Anyway glad the rumors were wrong, I'm gonna grab the new-new PS3 cause my launch PS3 is looking real old and busted.
