    Speed Racer: The Videogame

Game » consists of 3 releases. Released May 06, 2008

Speed Racer: The Videogame is a blisteringly fast movie tie-in racing game on courses full of loops and huge jumps, in which you're able to attack the other racers. Two different games were made for the movie, one for Nintendo Wii and Playstation 2, the other for Nintendo DS.

    i need more speed

hot damn this game is awesome.  Probably the most underrated game of 2008, simply because no one got it. i know only about 2 other people who bought it, and we have some intense matches when we get together.  after the minor disappointment i felt with mario kart,  i bought this game on a whim (about 3 days after i watched the movie, which i also thoroughly enjoyed)  and lo and behold how surprised i was that i was actually having fun!  the cars have a little bit of auto steering going on, which helps a lot since on the fastest difficulty you're flying down the track at roughly 700 km/h.  the wii wheel is a must for this game, the controlls are tight and after 2 races you easily catch on and become a pro WRL racer in no time.  in terms of graphics, its one of the prettiest games for wii ive seen, and if you arent playing with component cables, then youve never really played.  this game is the one that ive seen the most dramatic difference with the component cables, because even though everything is still blurred by youre speed, you can still make out the shapes and colours on the track.  Lastley, ide like to point out that car fu is the most awsome mechanic for a racing game ever.  its easy to do, just a small jolt with the controller and you're car is airborn.  tons of moves can be pulled off, like a tail flip, which is just you performing a flip while touching an oppenents bumper, they go flyin g, and you win the race :D.  one thing i found really cool was the combos you can do using boost pads.  if you do a side spin jump (hold left or right on the d-pad then jump, you do a cool little side twirl in the air)  while going off a boost, you do this wicked torpedo move that demolishes anything in the way.  i seriously reccomend this game whos got the need for some super sonic speed.  definatley worth a check out, expecially if you like f-zero.

Got the Need, the need for speed racer. 0

Speed racer the videogame is based on the racing world seen in speed racer the movie. But before you think this will be terrible like most movie tie-ins , you might be shock. The game doesn't follow the movie because this game is set after the movie. The key thing is that there is no story in this game , it's pure racing game with some car-fu ( a type of car melee attack like that of in f-zero). It's easy enough to think that F-zero is better , but currently there is no F-zero for the Wii. And t...

Speed, great visuals, nailed controls 0

I enjoyed it more than Mario Kart wii, the car fu moment is very satisfying, there's a great sense of speed, the controls work superb, great cast of characters with different stats, crazy tracks, good visuals that are pleasant to the eye. Please note that my review is based on the single player only as I didn't try the multiplayer aspect of the game. The game mechanic is interesting, you control the game by holding the wiimote side-way and you use various buttons and some specific gestures to p...
